This is a confidential executive search for a rapidly expanding logistics and distribution business. The organization operates as a third-party logistics provider, combining point-to-point pick-and-pack services with wholesale buy-sell operations in a model comparable to beverage alcohol or CPG distribution.

The company runs several warehouse sites across California and New York, handles a very large monthly unit volume, and processes more than $1 billion in annual wholesale transaction value. It is profitable, has been growing at a strong double-digit pace year over year, and employs hundreds of people across its network.

Role Overview

The company is hiring a Vice President of Supply Chain to own supply chain performance and the fulfillment P&L across its warehouse network. This is a hands-on build-and-scale leadership role for someone who can bring structure to a complex, non-standardized operation rather than simply applying an established corporate playbook.

You will lead the operational backbone of a highly diverse product environment with varied packaging and handling needs, all within a regulated and tightly controlled supply chain where every unit must be accounted for every day. The role includes senior leadership over a multi-site team and responsibility for standardizing how supply chain operations are run across seven locations in California and New York.

Key Responsibilities

• Own supply chain performance and the fulfillment P&L across all warehouse locations.
• Drive consistent operating standards, processes, and KPIs across a multi-site network that currently spans seven locations in California and New York, with continued expansion ahead.
• Improve labor productivity, unit-level cost efficiency, and throughput in a high-volume environment with uneven product flows.
• Oversee warehouse management systems and supporting infrastructure, including assessing and upgrading platforms as the network grows.
• Ensure adherence to state-level tracking rules and other regulatory obligations for every item processed.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a multi-site leadership team that can operate effectively at scale.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings at least 15 years of logistics and supply chain experience, including substantial exposure to multi-site operations. Experience in regulated logistics settings such as cosmetics, CPG, reverse fulfillment, or a similar environment is important.

This role suits a builder who is comfortable establishing processes and operating discipline from the ground up in a complex environment. Candidates who depend mainly on existing frameworks from large, heavily process-driven organizations are unlikely to be the right fit; the business needs someone who can solve problems amid ambiguity.

Strong command of operational metrics is essential, including cost per unit, throughput, KPI design, and performance tracking. Experience with warehouse management systems is also required, along with the ability to assess and evolve systems architecture as the business scales.

The position is based in California or New York and requires on-site presence with regional travel. Candidates should already be located in one of these states or be willing to relocate.
