Role Overview
General Mills is hiring a Food, Safety and Quality Technologist for its modern manufacturing site in Rooty Hill, New South Wales. This role is ideal for a high-energy FSQ professional who wants to uphold strong food safety and quality standards while contributing to process improvements and a culture of excellence. You will support the production environment, help protect product integrity, and play a meaningful part in delivering trusted products to consumers.

What the Role Involves
- Supporting production lines through daily review and on-the-ground assistance.
- Helping implement corrective actions when issues are identified.
- Collecting and testing samples from raw materials, finished products, equipment, and production areas.
- Carrying out product testing and sensory assessments.
- Performing monthly internal GMP audits across areas such as the warehouse and production lines.
- Assisting with other site audits, including HACCP, calibration, and pest control checks.
- Managing retention samples in line with required practices.
- Keeping the laboratory and work areas organised, clean, and aligned with 5S standards.
- Following all environmental, health and safety, and injury management procedures, including responsibilities stated in the General Mills EH&S Manual.
What You Bring
You should have at least 2 years of experience in a Food Safety & Quality function within a multinational consumer food company and experience working in a multicultural environment. Strong computer skills are needed, including familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools. The role also calls for solid relationship-building ability, influencing skills, and clear verbal communication. You should be comfortable understanding technical concepts and ideally come from a food, beverage, or FMCG background. A degree in Food Science & Technology, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline is required. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and QA principles and how to apply them is also important.
