Overview
The Vice President of Strategic Project Management leads the enterprise-wide portfolio of strategic initiatives, driving timely delivery and maintaining high standards for critical business projects involving digital transformation, organizational changes, global expansion, product innovation, and enhancing operational efficiency. Partnering closely with executive leadership, this position translates the company's strategic vision into executable project plans, develops governance frameworks, fosters cross-departmental collaboration, and promotes sustainable corporate growth and value generation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and deploy a comprehensive governance framework for strategic projects at the enterprise level.
- Oversee the planning, execution, tracking, and completion of significant company-wide initiatives and complex cross-functional projects.
- Ensure strategic projects are consistently aligned with long-term corporate objectives.
- Manage the portfolio of enterprise projects to optimize resource allocation and maximize return on investment.
- Establish standardized project management methodologies, processes, and best practices within the PMO.
- Set project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Continuously track project milestones to maintain schedule adherence and address critical risks and interdepartmental conflicts.
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop corporate strategy, champion digital transformation, business process optimization, organizational change, and oversee global expansion and post-merger integrations.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination across R&D, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and IT teams.
- Provide leadership, training, and performance oversight for project teams.
- Implement an enterprise-wide risk assessment framework and develop contingency and mitigation plans ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Control project budgets, improve resource utilization, and evaluate business impact and ROI.
- Define and monitor KPIs, report progress regularly to the Board and senior management, and drive continuous improvement in project management processes leveraging data analytics.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Business Management, Engineering Management, Project Management, IT, Finance, or related disciplines.
- MBA or a relevant Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in project management with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven expertise managing strategic projects in large multinational firms or fast-growing companies.
- Experience in setting up a Project Management Office (PMO) and managing global projects is preferred.
