Job description

Role overview

Greenworks is hiring a Vice President of Product Marketing to lead North American product marketing for its consumer and commercial outdoor power equipment lines. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, this position is based in Mooresville, NC and will translate the company’s global commercial and consumer product strategy into a practical market plan that drives profitable growth.

The organization is a leading name in battery-powered outdoor equipment for DIY buyers and landscaping professionals. Its portfolio includes Greenworks-branded and private-label products, as well as offerings for OEM partners. The product range spans battery-powered equipment across 24V, 40V, 60V, 80V, and commercial 82V platforms, along with corded tools and power equipment designed to deliver gas-like performance without the drawbacks of gas products.

This is a hands-on leadership role that must both define strategy and drive execution. The ideal candidate will shape messaging, value propositions, merchandising, pricing, channel plans, and product roadmaps, while working closely with sales, marketing, operations, finance, IT, international teams, and global marketing.

Success in the role will be measured by consistent and profitable growth in North America, stronger global brand awareness, and the ability to help move Greenworks toward category leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering and factory teams to ensure smooth launches for all new commercial products.
  • Own the full parts and accessories product portfolio.
  • Build and execute North American product strategy for Greenworks and Greenworks Commercial, covering specifications, value proposition, category management, pricing, and channel strategy.
  • Define a product roadmap and tollgate process that keeps projects on time, within scope, and aligned to channel needs.
  • Work with marketing to ensure product specifications are consumer-focused and best in class.
  • Support the marketing team with relevant social media content development.
  • Collaborate with business units to create pricing approaches that increase sales and profitability.
  • Guide product strategy to expand the brand and capture new opportunities in professional markets.
  • Identify opportunities for new product development and help bring innovative products to both consumer and commercial channels.
  • Use consumer research and marketing data to shape brand and product positioning.
  • Create packaging that feels fresh, stays on brand, and improves performance across retail, ecommerce, and distribution channels.
  • Develop strategic plans for consumer and commercial verticals that stay consistent with the brand.
  • Own product profit and loss responsibility.
  • Work in a global environment with frequent interaction with teams in Europe and China.
  • Spot North American opportunities to grow business units and improve overall sales and profitability.
  • Build partnerships and alliances with manufacturers and industry associations to expand technology leverage and margins.
  • Contribute to corporate strategy development.
  • Create a global strategy that supports regional implementation and future regional growth.
  • Develop tools for in-store profiling, product presentation, and active floorplan management.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience across multiple retail channels, ideally including home centers, mass merchants, clubs, hardware, independent dealers, and ecommerce.
  • Background in both marketing and product functions in North America; international exposure is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the dynamics of seasonal product categories.
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and remote communication tools.
  • Creative, flexible, self-directed, and able to work effectively with people at all levels and across a broad customer base.
  • Proven ability to lead, organize, and motivate a strong team.
  • Experience building new processes and business plans and carrying them through to market.
  • Ability to perform well in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving, action-driven, and sometimes unpredictable environment.
  • High energy, collaborative leadership style with the willingness to travel as needed to meet objectives.
  • Comfort using data and a consumer-first mindset to improve business performance and growth.
