Role Summary
The Vice President of Portfolio Management will take ownership of the design, execution, and ongoing oversight of multi-asset portfolios in a full-time remote position. The role involves defining portfolio strategy, performing detailed market and security analysis, and keeping portfolios aligned with client objectives, risk limits, and internal policies. The position also calls for regular performance reviews, asset allocation optimization, and close partnership with research, risk, and client-facing teams to present portfolio positioning and results. In addition, the role contributes to investment policy development, supports new product efforts, mentors junior colleagues, and helps improve portfolio management tools and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain portfolio strategies for multi-asset investments.
- Monitor portfolios continuously to ensure they stay consistent with client mandates, risk tolerances, and internal standards.
- Carry out market research and security-level analysis to support investment decisions.
- Review portfolio performance and refine asset allocation when needed.
- Work with research, risk, and client teams to explain portfolio structure, positioning, and outcomes.
- Help create and update investment policies and governance practices.
- Support launches of new investment products or related initiatives.
- Guide and develop junior team members.
- Contribute to improvements in portfolio management systems, tools, and operating processes.
- Stay current on market changes, regulatory updates, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Strong background in investments and finance, with the ability to read market trends and economic data for portfolio decisions.
- Solid experience in portfolio management and asset management, including allocation, risk oversight, and performance assessment.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability for modeling and decisions under uncertainty.
- Substantial experience in institutional or wealth management settings, ideally in a senior or leadership portfolio role.
- A master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline is preferred; CFA or similar credentials are an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex investment topics for varied audiences.
- Comfort working remotely while handling multiple priorities and collaborating across teams and time zones.
- High ethical standards, good judgment, and familiarity with investment regulations and compliance expectations.
