Job description

About Hampr

Hampr is a rapidly expanding laundry-as-a-service business built to take laundry off people’s plates. The company collects soiled laundry, washes and folds it with care, and delivers it back quickly, often within 24 hours. Its customer base includes households, businesses, and property partners across the country, and the company is scaling its footprint quickly to become a brand customers trust and rely on.

About the Role

The Vice President of Operations will serve as the top leader for Hampr’s physical operations. This person will oversee current facilities and the logistics teams responsible for moving laundry between customers and operations sites, while also creating the systems needed to launch new facilities in new markets. The role begins with responsibility for an active operational base, including a facility in Los Angeles and another opening in Escondido, along with an existing facility manager and field team. From there, the leader will build the next layer of management and the infrastructure needed to turn a high-growth startup into a national operation with strong standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategy with execution. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a growing organization while still staying close to the work, bringing operational discipline, logistics know-how, and strong financial control. The position reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of physical operations across all current and future markets, including facilities, logistics, field workforce, and supporting process systems.
  • Manage and expand live facility operations and pickup/delivery logistics, building on the teams already in place.
  • Lead new-site setup from the point a location is selected through construction, hiring, training, and launch; participate in site selection and carry responsibility after the site is approved.
  • Define the operating model for OPL and full-service laundromat operations, then convert learnings from internal facilities into playbooks, standards, and partner support that improve outside operations.
  • Create a practical robotics and automation roadmap by identifying the highest-value opportunities, prioritizing them carefully, and redesigning labor and workflows around automation when it is justified.
  • Build, document, and improve SOPs and other operating processes that raise consistency, quality, and efficiency across all sites.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a strong operations leadership bench, including facility managers, logistics leads, and field supervisors.
  • Own the operations P&L, including budgeting, expense control, and unit economics management while protecting service quality.
  • Oversee how operational and logistics systems are used day to day, including route optimization, dashboards, and real-time visibility into facility performance and workforce health, in partnership with the technology team.
  • Work with the CEO and executive team on expansion planning, operational readiness, and growth strategy for new markets.
  • Set and enforce standards for safety, labor compliance, and regulatory requirements across all facilities.
  • Drive continuous-improvement efforts using data, performance metrics, and frontline input to reduce waste and strengthen operational performance.

Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of progressive leadership in operations, including at least 5 years at Director level or higher managing multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated success scaling operations in logistics, fulfillment, facilities management, or services, ideally with direct experience opening new locations.
  • Strong financial capability with direct responsibility for P&L management, budgeting, cost control, and unit economics analysis.
  • Deep experience in process design and standardization, including creating SOPs from the ground up and using them to produce measurable improvements.
  • Comfort working alongside automation and robotics, with the ability to assess value, prioritize implementation, and redesign operations around it without overcommitting too early.
  • Strong KPI design and performance management skills, with a habit of using dashboards and holding teams accountable to measurable outcomes.
  • Experience leading and developing multi-layered operations teams across multiple locations.
  • Background in logistics or supply chain, such as route planning, fleet operations, or last-mile delivery, is advantageous.
  • Entrepreneurial operating style with comfort in ambiguity, a bias for building, and the ability to move quickly without losing precision.

Who You Are

  • You are a builder who can start without a detailed blueprint and take pride in creating something from the ground up.
  • You like leaving a visible mark on the business and value work that still shapes the company’s direction in the future.
  • You take complete ownership of results and do not wait for direction before solving problems.
  • You bring strong energy, persistence, and grit to the role.

Physical Requirements

  • Willingness to travel frequently across Hampr markets, with travel expected to be up to 30%.
  • Comfort working in laundry facilities and conducting walkthroughs in warm, humid, industrial environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move through facilities for extended periods during site visits and audits.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid time off.
  • Phone allowance.
  • Equity for full-time employees joining at this stage, with the company emphasizing shared upside as it grows.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $195,000 to $240,000 per year for candidates in Southern California and $170,000 to $210,000 per year for candidates in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Pay is determined by the labor market tied to the work location.

This position is eligible for a 40% bonus. The total cash compensation range is $273,000 to $336,000 annually.

Hampr is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
