Job description

About Hampr

Hampr is a rapidly expanding laundry-as-a-service business on a mission to remove laundry from people’s to-do lists. The company collects dirty laundry, washes and folds it with care, and returns it usually within 24 hours. Its customer base includes households, businesses, and properties nationwide, and the brand is focused on becoming a service people rely on and love.

About the Role

Hampr is hiring a senior operations leader to own physical operations end-to-end. This person will oversee the company’s current facilities and logistics operations, guide the launch of new sites, and help turn a growing startup into a nationally scalable operating model. The role begins with a live operations base in Los Angeles and another site opening in Escondido, along with an existing facility manager and field team. From there, you will build the leadership structure, systems, and operating discipline needed for scale.

This is a hands-on build-and-scale role for someone who can lead a growing team while staying close to the work. The position reports directly to the CEO.

Core Scope

  • Own the full physical operations function across current and future markets, including facilities, logistics, field workforce, and process systems.
  • Oversee live facility operations and pickup/delivery logistics while developing the teams that support them.
  • Drive new-facility execution from construction through hiring, training, and launch after a site has been selected.
  • Help define operating standards for OPL and full-service laundromat models, then convert learnings into playbooks and partner support that improve execution.
  • Build a practical robotics and automation roadmap by identifying high-value opportunities and reshaping labor and workflows around them only where they clearly add value.
  • Create and continuously refine SOPs and operating processes that improve consistency, quality, and efficiency.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead an operations leadership bench that includes facility managers, logistics leads, and field supervisors.
  • Own the operations P&L, including budgeting, cost control, and unit-economics improvement while protecting service quality.
  • Manage the use of performance and logistics systems such as route optimization tools, dashboards, and real-time operational visibility, in partnership with the technology team.
  • Work with the CEO and executive team on expansion planning, operational readiness, and market-growth strategy.
  • Set and enforce compliance practices across safety, labor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use data, performance measures, and frontline input to drive continuous improvement and remove waste.

Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of progressive operations leadership experience, including at least 5 years at Director level or higher overseeing multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated success scaling operations in logistics, fulfillment, facilities management, or service businesses, preferably with experience opening new locations.
  • Strong financial understanding with direct ownership of budgets, cost management, and unit economics.
  • Proven ability to design processes and standardize operations, with experience building SOPs from the ground up and using them to improve results.
  • Comfort working with automation and robotics, including knowing where they create value and how to sequence adoption responsibly.
  • Strong KPI and performance management skills, with the ability to define metrics, use dashboards, and drive accountability to outcomes.
  • Experience leading and developing multi-level operations teams across multiple locations.
  • A logistics or supply-chain background such as route planning, fleet management, or last-mile delivery is a plus.
  • An entrepreneurial operating style, with comfort in ambiguity, a bias toward building, and the ability to move quickly without losing precision.

Who You Are

  • You are a builder who enjoys creating systems and teams from scratch and leaving a visible mark on the organization.
  • You take personal ownership of outcomes and prefer to solve problems proactively rather than wait for direction.
  • You bring energy, resilience, and grit to the work.

Physical Requirements

  • Willingness to travel frequently across Hampr markets, with travel expected up to 30%.
  • Comfort working inside laundry facility environments, including warm, humid, industrial settings.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move through facilities for long periods during site visits and audits.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid time off
  • Phone allowance
  • Equity for full-time employees who join at this stage

Compensation

The base pay range is $195,000 to $240,000 for Southern California candidates and $170,000 to $210,000 for candidates in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Compensation is tied to the local labor market where the employee will work.

This role is eligible for a 40% bonus, and the total cash compensation range is $273,000 to $336,000 annually.

Equal Opportunity

Hampr is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse, inclusive workplace. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
