Job description

About Hampr

Hampr is a rapidly expanding laundry-as-a-service business focused on taking laundry off customers’ plates. The company collects soiled laundry, washes and folds it carefully, and delivers it back, typically within 24 hours. Its customer base includes homes, businesses, and property partners nationwide, and the company is scaling quickly with the goal of becoming a brand people rely on and love.

About the Role

The Vice President of Operations will serve as the most senior leader overseeing Hampr’s physical operations. This person will be responsible for how current facilities run and how the operation expands over time. The role covers live facilities, pickup and delivery logistics, and the launch of new sites as the business enters additional markets.

The position starts with an existing operating footprint: one facility in Los Angeles, another being opened in Escondido, and an already-established facility manager and field team. From there, the VP will build the next layer of leadership and the systems needed to turn a high-growth startup into a strong national operating organization. This is a hands-on scaling role, reporting directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full physical operations function across all present and future markets, including facilities, logistics, field labor, and operating systems.
  • Manage and expand live facility operations and the pickup/delivery network that supports them.
  • Direct new facility launches from the point a site is chosen through construction, hiring, training, and opening, while participating in site selection discussions.
  • Set standards for OPL and full-service laundromat operations and build a partner network supported by playbooks, operating standards, and improvement programs.
  • Develop a practical robotics and automation approach by identifying high-value opportunities, sequencing rollouts carefully, and redesigning work around automation where it makes sense.
  • Create, refine, and maintain SOPs and operating processes that improve consistency, quality, and efficiency across every location.
  • Recruit, lead, and coach an operations leadership team, including facility managers, logistics leaders, and field supervisors.
  • Own the operating P&L by managing budgets, controlling costs, and improving unit economics without lowering service standards.
  • Define how performance and logistics systems should be used operationally, including route optimization, dashboards, and real-time visibility into site health and workforce performance, in coordination with the technology team that builds them.
  • Work with the CEO and executive team on expansion planning, market readiness, and growth into new geographies.
  • Ensure every facility meets safety, labor, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement using data, performance reporting, and frontline input to reduce waste and raise operational performance.

Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of advancing operations leadership experience, including 5+ years at Director level or higher managing multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated success scaling operations in logistics, fulfillment, facilities management, or service businesses, with experience opening new locations preferred.
  • Strong financial capability with direct ownership of budgets, cost control, and unit-economics modeling.
  • Deep background in process design and standardization, including building SOPs from the ground up and using them to improve results.
  • Comfort evaluating and working with automation and robotics, including deciding when the investment is justified and redesigning workflows accordingly.
  • Strong ability to build KPIs, manage performance through dashboards, and hold teams accountable to measurable outcomes.
  • Experience leading and developing multi-level operations teams across multiple locations.
  • Logistics or supply-chain experience such as route planning, fleet operations, or last-mile delivery is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in ambiguity, speed, and hands-on building.

Who You Are

  • You are a builder who is comfortable starting without a playbook and leaving a visible mark on the business.
  • You take ownership of results and proactively solve problems instead of waiting for direction.
  • You bring strong energy and determination to the work.

Physical Requirements

  • Willingness to travel frequently across Hampr markets, with travel expected up to 30% of the time.
  • Comfort working in laundry-facility environments that may be warm, humid, and industrial.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move through facilities for extended periods during site visits and audits.

Benefits

The current benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, a phone allowance, and equity for full-time employees. Additional benefits may be added over time as the company grows.

Compensation

The base salary varies by geography: $195,000 to $240,000 for candidates based in Southern California, and $170,000 to $210,000 for candidates based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Pay is tied to the local labor market where the person works. The role is also eligible for a 40% bonus, bringing total cash compensation to an annual range of $273,000 to $336,000.

Equal Opportunity

Hampr is an equal opportunity employer and values an inclusive workplace. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected status.
