Job description

Role Overview

This is a senior company-wide leadership role with a Seattle-based deep tech company that is growing quickly. The position works closely with the founding team and is responsible for building the operating foundation that allows a highly technical organization to scale smoothly.

You will oversee the systems, processes, and people infrastructure needed to support rapid growth. In this seat, you will partner directly with the founders on decisions that influence the direction of the business and translate strategy into execution across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Set and manage the company’s operating rhythm, including goal-setting, planning, reporting, and the processes that keep a fast-growing team aligned.
  • Work with the CEO and CFO on operational planning, including budgets, headcount planning, vendor decisions, and resource allocation.
  • Build and improve people operations infrastructure such as recruiting operations, onboarding, performance processes, and other systems needed to grow from 30 employees to 100+.
  • Coordinate across engineering, hardware, machine learning, and cloud teams so that technical work stays aligned with business priorities.
  • Support legal, compliance, and risk-related coordination as the company scales and completes a major funding round.
  • Contribute to strategic business decisions and participate in meetings and discussions that shape company direction.
  • Manage communication and relationships with investors, partners, and other external stakeholders, including important meetings and demos.

Candidate Profile

The right candidate should have experience scaling a company through a major financing event or a period of hypergrowth and should understand the operational challenges that emerge as a team grows from 30 to 60 to 100+ people.

A strong technical foundation is important, whether from an engineering background, leading operations in a highly technical environment, or being comfortable working with ML researchers and engineers.

You should be comfortable working through ambiguity, creating processes from scratch, and resolving issues before they become larger problems. A builder’s mindset and the ability to move easily between finance, people operations, and strategy conversations are essential.
