About the Role
This executive leadership position is centered on improving operational performance, lowering costs, strengthening customer experience, and supporting compliance across the organization. The role plays a major part in advancing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation for the Population Health & Clinical Outcomes Organization (PHCO).
Key Focus
The main objective of this position is to support PHCO performance through metric reporting, process enhancement, audits, and execution discipline. The role also includes leadership of operational excellence work, the PHCO Project Management Office, and the enterprise clinical appeals function.
Responsibilities
- Define strategic goals and ensure they align with broader business priorities.
- Pinpoint the most important operational improvement opportunities and drive their implementation.
- Lead the Project Management Office for the PHCO organization.
- Oversee delivery of operational excellence programs and confirm they achieve intended results.
- Direct the enterprise clinical appeals organization.
- Create and maintain a strong compliance oversight program for clinical operations to support regulatory requirements.
- Review and improve operating processes using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and similar methods.
- Build standardized workflows that improve consistency and efficiency.
- Track KPIs to assess the impact of improvement efforts.
- Coach and develop teams in operational excellence practices.
- Develop a high-performing team and encourage continuous improvement across the function.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to solve operational issues and unlock opportunities.
- Present strategies, priorities, and updates clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Study operational data to identify patterns, risks, and improvement areas.
- Create reporting tools and performance dashboards for senior leadership review.
- Maintain adherence to Plan, Do, Check, and Adjust practices.
- Monitor and communicate operational excellence results through structured accountability routines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in healthcare operations.
- Strong background in Six Sigma and deep operational leadership is preferred.
- Prior experience leading staff, including hiring, training, workload management, and performance oversight.
- Experience in large-scale, highly regulated environments under state and federal oversight is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The posted salary range for this role is $250,000 to $480,000 annually. Final compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related factors allowed by law, including full-time or part-time status. Additional incentive compensation may also be available.
