Position Summary
The Vice President of Strategic Analysis will build and lead the company’s enterprise-wide strategic analysis function. This senior leader will oversee industry research, market intelligence, operational analysis, strategic evaluation, and data-driven insights to support corporate strategy, investment choices, business expansion, and resource planning.
The role sits at the connection point between strategic thinking, business insight, and analytical decision-making. It is responsible for uncovering market opportunities, evaluating strategic risks, and improving how resources are allocated by creating analysis models, research frameworks, and operational intelligence systems. The overall objective is to strengthen the company’s ability to make sound strategic decisions and expand its competitive position.
This position typically reports to the Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, or Executive Vice President and is a critical senior leadership role within the organization.
Strategic Analysis System Development
- Create the company’s strategic analysis governance model, operating rules, and standards.
- Design and implement an enterprise strategic analysis framework.
- Set up processes for industry, market, and competitor analysis.
- Build strategic analysis databases and knowledge management resources.
- Define mechanisms that directly support strategic decision-making.
- Continuously improve the organization’s strategic analysis capabilities.
Industry Research and Market Analysis
- Carry out detailed research on industry trends and market movement.
- Assess shifts in the macroeconomic, policy, and sector environment.
- Identify new markets and areas of business growth.
- Evaluate market size, competition, and long-term development potential.
- Develop industry analysis models and produce research-based recommendations.
- Prepare industry research reports for leadership decision-making.
Competitive Intelligence
- Establish a system for monitoring competitor intelligence.

Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree or higher is expected in Strategic Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a closely related field. An MBA or a master’s degree in Economics or Finance is preferred.
The ideal candidate should bring at least 25 years of experience in strategic analysis, business analysis, consulting, operational analysis, or investment analysis, along with 10+ years in senior leadership roles such as Director or Vice President. Experience with large enterprises, multinational companies, or management consulting firms is preferred, as is prior work in strategic planning, corporate operations analysis, industry research, and market analysis.
