Role Overview

The Vice President of Recruiting Operations is a key leadership role based on-site in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area. This position directs all recruiting initiatives for drivers, logistics staff, and corporate employees to support company growth and exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities include developing and refining recruiting procedures, managing and mentoring the recruiting team, setting performance benchmarks, and reporting progress to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and enhance recruiting strategies and workflows aligned with business objectives
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of recruitment professionals to achieve high performance
  • Partner with executive leaders, operations, and HR to forecast workforce requirements
  • Oversee recruiting budgets and ensure regulatory compliance in employment and transportation
  • Elevate employer branding efforts and build strong external partnerships for talent sourcing
  • Implement recruitment technologies and tools to improve candidate experience and operational efficiency

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven expertise in managing recruiting operations including strategy design and data-driven performance oversight
  • Established leadership skills in directing recruiting teams and talent development
  • Experience in logistics or transportation sectors, particularly driver recruitment and regulatory knowledge
  • Advanced analytical capabilities and proficiency with applicant tracking systems and HR tech
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with executive and cross-functional teams
  • History of creating employer branding initiatives and nurturing community and campus talent pipelines
  • Capability in managing recruiting budgets, vendor relations, and RFP processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, management, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or certifications like SHRM or HRCI preferred
  • Availability for on-site work in Portland and occasional travel to company sites or industry events
