Position Overview
ComTecNova North America is looking for a proactive and strategic Vice President to lead product platforms and product management efforts for its North American operations. This leadership role will oversee the Braeburn product portfolio, company product platforms, and joint development and manufacturing initiatives. Collaborating closely with customers, sales teams, operations, engineering, manufacturing partners, and the global CTO office, this role ensures market demands translate into commercially viable products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the product and platform strategy for the North American market.
- Manage product roadmaps, prioritize portfolio projects, oversee lifecycle management, and drive new product launches.
- Lead the Product Management team covering Braeburn, platform products, and joint development/manufacturing programs.
- Collect requirements from customers, distributors, contractors, and market research to define product specifications.
- Spot growth opportunities in thermostats, HVAC controls, smart home devices, connected technologies, and related sectors.
- Create business cases, advise on pricing strategies, plan competitive positioning, and coordinate product launches.
- Collaborate with Sales on customer engagements, product presentations, bids, and strategic expansion plans.
- Work cross-functionally with global CTO, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and operations teams.
- Oversee product performance metrics, profitability, cost management, quality standards, and portfolio streamlining.
- Implement a stage-gate process guiding products from concept through successful commercialization.
- Cultivate and grow a high-performing, customer-centric product management department.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in product management, strategy, engineering, or commercial leadership roles.
- Leadership background in HVAC controls, thermostats, smart home technologies, building systems, electronics, or connected products.
- Deep knowledge of product development processes, manufacturing, joint development & manufacturing (JDM), original design manufacturing (ODM), and private-label business models.
- Proven track record in launching products successfully and managing complex portfolios.
- Strong commercial insight, financial analysis skills, and ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams across North America and globally.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related disciplines; MBA is preferred.
