Job description

Overview

A cutting-edge InsurTech startup based in London is seeking a Vice President of Product to join their leadership team. With advanced algorithms redefining insurance coverage, the company is experiencing accelerated growth and expanding its revenue streams. This role will play a vital role in steering the company's product strategy during a pivotal growth phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and Founding team as a senior leader, owning and defining product strategy to drive future expansion of the company.
  • Develop innovative solutions addressing complex customer issues by integrating product design, data insights, and operational processes, enhancing the workflows of brokers and insurers instead of merely delivering new features.
  • Lead through influence by coordinating efforts among Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to build consensus and make impactful product decisions within a cross-functional environment.
  • Expand and nurture the product department by managing an existing Product Manager, hiring additional talent, and establishing a robust product function as the company transitions from startup to growth stage.
  • Take full ownership of product outcomes in a fast-moving environment, exercising sound judgment, commercial acumen, and hands-on execution from the outset.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated excellence in product management with a strong commercial perspective, proficient in discovery, prioritization, and delivery aligned with revenue generation and customer engagement.
  • Proven success in high-performance product settings.
  • Ability to address customer challenges by leveraging data, operational understanding, and workflow redesign, beyond just engineering solutions.
  • Experience navigating uncertainty, including involvement in product-market fit phases or pivoting product direction based on customer feedback rather than incremental improvements alone.
  • Background working within complicated or regulated industries.
