Role Overview
As the Vice President of Operations, you will act as a versatile leader partnering closely with founders and department heads to address critical challenges, eliminate operational bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across the company. Your leadership will help make Shelf faster, smarter, leaner, and more effective every month by building an AI-powered operating system and enhancing all aspects of business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of an AI-Native Operating System by evaluating and integrating the latest AI tools, agents, workflows, and platforms to increase efficiency and operational intelligence at Shelf.
- Continuously optimize company operations by reducing manual tasks, redesigning workflows, enhancing internal tooling, and improving vendor relationships to amplify the productivity of every team.
- Act as a strategic partner to Sales and Marketing teams, managing funnel analytics, pipeline health, revenue and marketing operations, campaign effectiveness, territory planning, and pricing strategies to drive growth.
- Take ownership of diverse operational segments including Sales Ops, Revenue Ops, Marketing Ops, People Ops, recruitment, legal matters, vendor negotiations, and urgent operational projects.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Brings over 16 years of leadership experience scaling high-growth technology startups, ideally advancing from Seed through Series B/C funding rounds in roles such as founder, COO, Chief of Staff, VP of Operations, or senior strategy and operations manager.
- Exhibits expertise in growth analytics, thinking in metrics, dashboards, KPIs, unit economics, and experimentation to translate complex data into sound operational decisions and improvements.
- Is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about AI-native business technologies and systems, with hands-on experience using tools such as Claude, Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, n8n, Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio, Clay, Rippling, Ramp, Tabs, Snowflake, Fivetran, SQL, Sigma, Hex, Python, and a drive to continuously evaluate emerging technologies.
- Possesses outstanding leadership skills, capable of holding leaders accountable, influencing without direct authority, making tough decisions, aligning cross-functional teams, building trust, and elevating organizational performance.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary range from $260,000 to $300,000 plus significant equity participation.
