Position Summary
The Vice President of Operations role is a critical leadership position focused on driving growth and operational excellence within the Enclosures, Tanks & Mechanical segment. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Precision Fabrication, the incumbent will oversee all manufacturing operations, aligning production, supply chain, and financial objectives with the company’s strategic goals to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and execute strategic direction to enhance production efficiency, cost management, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Lead initiatives for continuous operational improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with the executive team to ensure operational plans complement overall corporate strategy.
- Manage plant profitability, asset utilization, and business execution, including detailed budgeting for operating and capital expenses.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team by establishing clear objectives and offering effective training and guidance.
- Drive growth by nurturing and sustaining strong customer relationships based on trust.
- Oversee the entire supply chain lifecycle from materials planning, procurement, inventory management, to distribution.
- Create and implement strategic sourcing programs, including managing supplier agreements like VMI and EDI contracts.
- Ensure rigorous inventory forecasting and control procedures, training employees on corporate methodologies to secure on-time deliveries and minimize risk.
- Maintain strict adherence to industry regulations and safety standards such as FAR, ITAR, CMMC, ISO9001, AS9100, AWS, and ANSI.
- Guarantee precise operational inputs for pricing and proposals aligning with business and customer goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business is required; an MBA is preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain, ideally within Precision Metal Fabrication.
- Practical expertise in MRP systems, New Product Introduction (NPI), and capacity planning.
- Strong financial management skills with proven experience handling P&L, budgeting, and strategy development.
- Project-level accounting knowledge is advantageous.
- Outstanding leadership, business insight, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
