Overview

KenCrest is seeking a visionary and mission-focused Vice President of Operations to lead and enhance Adult Services across Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Delaware. This prominent leadership position entails managing large-scale multi-state operations focused on supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Reporting to the COO, this role oversees programs exceeding $100 million, emphasizing growth, operational excellence, innovation, quality results, and leadership cultivation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to advance the agency’s standing in service markets through advocacy and participation in professional associations.
  • Analyze industry trends impacting agency positioning and promote organizational capabilities to partners.
  • Oversee operational management of adult programs in CT, PA, and DE, ensuring efficiency, quality, and expansion of programs valued over $100 million.
  • Facilitate cross-unit collaboration when delivering services to individuals.
  • Ensure robust systems and processes uphold funder and organizational quality standards.
  • Lead change management with transparent decision-making and conflict resolution approaches.
  • Continuously challenge processes to meet the highest success standards and incorporate innovations that enhance supported individuals’ outcomes.
  • Evaluate performance data and fiscal information to identify improvement needs and implement corrective measures.
  • Communicate agency policies clearly while including frontline staff in planning improvements and recognizing team achievements.
  • Enhance supervision models and promote leadership best practices to develop a positive work culture.
  • Forge community partnerships to foster innovations and improve community health and sustainability.
  • Champion systemic and funding improvements in service delivery.
  • Promote a culture of learning by mentoring executives, identifying champions for new approaches, and fostering staff development aligned with agency goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Human Services, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years’ leadership experience in a nonprofit with extensive operational oversight of multi-state adult IDD programs emphasizing growth and efficiency.
  • Strong expertise in intellectual and developmental disabilities; behavioral health experience preferred.
  • Experience with waiver-funded adult IDD services, including residential and community living, CPS, employment, and day supports.
  • Proven financial management overseeing budgets, P&L, and billing in large-scale operations with revenues exceeding $50 million annually.
  • Familiarity with pay-for-performance and performance-based service models.
  • Established skills in setting operational standards, ensuring delivery efficiency, and embedding continuous measurement practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in fostering collaboration, positive culture, and effective change management.
  • Business acumen and ability to navigate complex service environments.
  • A leadership style balancing decisiveness with empathy, encouraging innovation and high performance.
  • Curiosity and adaptability with enthusiasm for leveraging technology to improve service delivery.
  • Passionate commitment to empowering individuals, families, and communities aligned with KenCrest’s mission.
