Role Summary
The Vice President of Operations will serve as a senior executive leader overseeing utility field operations across multiple states. This role covers construction, maintenance, distribution, customer field service, safety, regulatory compliance, and overall operational performance. The position is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field operations strategy and execution across all service areas.
- Ensure the natural gas distribution network is operated safely, reliably, and in a cost-conscious manner.
- Own preparedness for emergencies, operational disruptions, and weather-related events.
- Build and sustain a strong safety culture with a goal of zero-incident performance.
- Work closely with Engineering, Compliance, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and other teams to support company-wide objectives.
- Maintain compliance with PHMSA, OSHA, state utility commissions, and other applicable regulatory bodies.
- Direct strategic planning and budgeting for the Operations function, including O&M and capital spending.
- Identify and introduce improvements in process, technology, and operating practices to improve efficiency.
- Represent the Operations function in executive leadership discussions and broader corporate initiatives.
- Promote a respectful and inclusive workplace and help develop a diverse talent pipeline in field operations.
Experience and Education
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline is preferred. An MBA or other advanced degree is also preferred. Candidates should bring 15+ years of progressive operations experience in natural gas transmission or distribution.
