Job description
About the role
Allied Federal Credit Union is looking for a senior operations leader to help deliver strong financial services and a standout member experience across the organization. Reporting to the President/CEO, this position is a key part of the leadership team and is accountable for branch operations, member service, digital services, operational systems, and ongoing process improvement.
The role is expected to drive operational excellence, maintain regulatory compliance, support team growth, and help execute strategic priorities that advance the credit union’s mission and the “Allied Experience.”
What you'll do
- Lead and support Branch Managers and frontline staff to deliver high-quality member service and consistent business results.
- Oversee day-to-day branch activity and act as an escalation resource for operational matters.
- Help build and sustain a workplace culture aligned with the credit union’s core values and service standards.
- Track service quality and member interactions to ensure a reliable experience at every location.
- Support staffing decisions, employee performance management, and professional development initiatives.
- Manage operational workflows and support functions so processes remain efficient and consistent across the organization.
- Guide the rollout of new products, services, and technology enhancements.
- Lead the CoreFour Committee responsible for oversight of the core processing platform.
- Supervise digital banking platforms, card services, and operational vendor relationships.
- Review operational and service metrics to identify patterns, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Refine processes and procedures to improve productivity and consistency.
- Work with the President/CEO and leadership team to plan and execute strategic initiatives.
- Serve as the Bank Secrecy Act Officer and ensure compliance with applicable reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Make sure Board-approved policies, federal regulations, and NCUA Rules and Regulations are followed.
- Participate as a member of the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO).
- Research member needs, industry trends, and operational data to recommend better products, processes, and procedures.
- Partner with Marketing to support branch-level execution of campaigns, promotions, and member communications with consistent messaging.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred; relevant equivalent experience may be accepted instead.
- At least 6 years of experience in a credit union or financial institution with progressively stronger leadership responsibility.
- Solid understanding of branch operations, member service delivery, and operational management.
- Hands-on familiarity with core processing systems, digital banking platforms, and card services.
- Working knowledge of credit union regulations and compliance obligations.
- Experience with Corelation, a CCUE designation, or graduation from SCMS is an added advantage.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional extended hours and weekends.
- Willingness to travel between branch locations and off-site meetings; a valid driver’s license may be required.
Working conditions
This is an office-based retail branch role with no physical effort beyond what is normally expected in a standard office setting. The environment is generally quiet, but periods of heavy workload or tight deadlines may require extra hours. Because the position supports a retail branch environment, occasional extended shifts and weekend work are expected.
