Role Overview
The Vice President of Marketing will partner closely with the Brand Marketing team to design and implement effective brand strategies for specific product lines. Serving as the central point for these brands, this individual will collaborate extensively with departments such as Sales, Product Development, Operations, Digital Marketing, and Creative services to drive successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead forward-thinking brand strategies, managing all marketing, brand management, and product development initiatives for assigned product lines.
- Act as the primary coordinator for selected brands by working across Sales, Product Development, Operations, and other teams to deliver effective results.
- Oversee the product commercialization process, ensuring product launches meet timelines, cost and margin goals while maintaining market relevance and strong value perception.
- Spot growth and whitespace opportunities in products and categories to guide marketing and development efforts.
- Direct line planning, profit and loss management, asset development, and digital content programs.
- Create line plans, forecasts, and growth strategies tailored to assigned product lines.
- Manage marketing plans, budgets, and evaluate initiatives' results.
- Serve as the ambassador for the brand and product lines.
- Maintain licensor relationships to maximize partnership value for assigned product lines.
- Recommend product marketing trends, identify competitive threats, and suggest new strategies involving products and packaging to fuel growth.
- Develop sales pitch tools and communicate regular updates to the sales force.
- Translate overall strategies into integrated marketing campaigns encompassing media planning, public relations, digital channels, and social media to enhance consumer experience.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in the toy industry is essential, with additional gaming sector exposure considered advantageous.
- Demonstrates creativity and innovation in marketing and product strategy development.
- Strong focus on licensor needs, facilitating clear communication and alignment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments to achieve corporate goals.
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including impactful presentation abilities.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving capabilities to meet challenging deadlines.
- Team-oriented with effective interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related area preferred; a Master's degree is a plus.
- At least 10 years of marketing experience, primarily within the toy industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a marketing leadership role.
- Experience handling categories such as gaming, boy brands, and action figures.
- Proven track record in leading marketing strategies including planning and execution.
- Expertise in developing brand awareness and recognition.
- Proficient with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary ranging from $185,000 to $200,000 depending on experience.
