Company Overview
Nightfall is an AI-powered platform specializing in unified data loss prevention and insider risk management across SaaS applications, GenAI tools, emails, endpoints, and more. Trusted by hundreds of customers, including leading AI innovators and top banks, Nightfall safeguards sensitive data by automatically detecting and preventing data exfiltration. The platform automates remediation to resolve security violations proactively and coaches users to self-correct potential errors.
Backed by prominent investors and cybersecurity leaders, Nightfall is positioned at the vanguard of AI-native data security solutions.
Role Summary
We seek a Vice President of Marketing to lead Nightfall’s marketing strategy and execution as the company accelerates growth in the AI security space. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will establish the complete marketing function including demand generation, field marketing, product marketing, branding, PR, and website management. This leadership opportunity is suited for an experienced marketing executive eager to build and scale a marketing engine at a high-growth Series B company with proven product-market fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and direct end-to-end marketing strategy encompassing brand positioning, category narrative, campaign planning, and budget management aligned with company goals.
- Collaborate closely with sales leadership to drive pipeline generation via paid acquisition, ABM, email marketing, and inbound channels, maintaining focus on actual closed deals.
- Design and execute Nightfall’s field marketing initiatives including events, conferences, executive roundtables, and partner programs to boost pipeline and customer engagement.
- Lead product marketing efforts involving competitive positioning, sales enablement, battlecards, and launch planning for new offerings in close partnership with Product and Sales Engineering.
- Shape brand and market narrative with the Head of Content to ensure compelling positioning against competitors, especially among CISOs and enterprise security decision-makers.
- Own website strategy and optimization to effectively communicate value propositions and convert visitors into leads.
- Manage external communications, PR, media relations, thought leadership, and analyst relations, including interactions with Gartner, Forrester, and IDC.
- Integrate AI-driven tools throughout marketing processes to enhance research, content production, campaign execution, and reporting.
- Oversee full marketing budget allocation, ensuring transparent ROI reporting to the CEO.
- Lead and grow a focused marketing team, fostering accountability, creativity, and commercial results.
- Align marketing efforts cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams and advise the CEO on go-to-market strategy and positioning.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in B2B SaaS marketing, with at least 3–5 years in senior leadership overseeing one or more marketing functions.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling marketing operations at Series A or B companies with clear, measurable impact.
- Expertise in demand generation and accountability for revenue pipeline rather than just awareness or lead volume.
- Proficient in field marketing strategies and execution that translate into pipeline growth.
- Experience managing product marketing including competitive differentiation, sales tools, and go-to-market launches.
- Skilled in budgeting and resource allocation based on ROI analysis.
- Experienced with ownership of corporate website as a critical marketing conversion channel.
- Background in PR, external communications, and analyst relations management.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools deeply integrated into marketing workflows.
- Specialization in cybersecurity, data security, AI, or related technical B2B markets is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to create new market categories and narratives, not only compete in established ones.
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills.
- Track record of leading small, high-impact marketing teams with collaborative and results-driven cultures.
- Ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments where leadership encompasses both strategy and execution.
Company Culture and Values
- Customer Centricity: placing customers at the core of decision-making.
- Practicality over Perfection: making swift, well-informed decisions and iterative improvements.
- Striving for Excellence through continuous progress and high standards.
- Transparent, honest, and open communication and collaboration.
- Resilience in tackling difficult challenges.
- Infusing fun and enjoyment into hard work as a team.
Equal Opportunity Employer
Nightfall values diversity and inclusion with a commitment to equal employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. Hiring decisions are based solely on merit and business needs.
Compensation
Compensation will reflect interview performance, experience, and relevant skills as well as market benchmarks, including base salary, applicable bonuses, equity, and benefits discussed during offer negotiation.
