Role Overview

We are seeking a Vice President of Manufacturing to lead all manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless and efficient processes. This role involves strategizing to increase productivity, optimize resource utilization, and uphold superior quality standards. You will drive continuous improvement efforts, nurture a culture of innovation and excellence, and collaborate with leadership across R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and EHSS to align goals and uphold operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all manufacturing activities to meet quality benchmarks and customer expectations.
  • Apply lean manufacturing methodologies and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Enhance production workflows to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Craft and execute operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead long-range planning and operational budgeting.
  • Identify operational risks and formulate mitigation plans.
  • Build and guide a high-performing manufacturing team, promoting accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
  • Integrate new technologies thoughtfully, collaborating with R&D and IT to implement advancements without disrupting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety policies, and quality control procedures, maintaining strong quality assurance programs.
  • Resolve operational issues impacting product quality or regulatory adherence.
  • Manage budgets, control operational expenditures, and seek cost-saving opportunities.
  • Report operational and financial performance metrics to executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related discipline; advanced degree (MBA or higher) preferred.
  • Substantial leadership experience in senior manufacturing operations roles within tough tech sectors, including managing plant operations, leading Manufacturing Centers of Excellence (CoE), and overseeing large, multi-shift teams.
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality management systems with hands-on experience standardizing practices across facilities and integrating them into CoE frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop diverse teams, cultivating a culture focused on collaboration, safety, and accountability.
  • Strong background in technology adoption and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience in strategic operational planning, process engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma at global or multi-plant scales.
  • Demonstrated financial management skills, including budgeting and performance monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Additional Requirements

  • Work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings.
  • Travel to manufacturing and supplier sites may be necessary.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required.
  • Capability to perform tasks involving prolonged typing, standing, or sitting.
  • Exposure to industrial hazards such as heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage/current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
