Position Overview

This executive role is responsible for defining and implementing a comprehensive technology vision that supports global growth, operational excellence, and innovation for the enterprise. The Vice President of Global Technology leads global teams, ensuring platform modernization, robust security, and advanced digital capabilities, including leveraging AI and automation to generate sustainable enterprise value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a multi-year global technology roadmap aligned with the organization's goals, growth trajectory, and industry trends.
  • Drive enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives impacting clinical, laboratory, and business operations.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leaders and stakeholders to identify and capitalize on technology opportunities that enhance efficiency, quality, customer experience, and operational outcomes.
  • Develop and enforce technology governance models, architectural standards, investment strategies, and decision-making protocols.
  • Oversee worldwide IT infrastructure including cloud services, data centers, networks, endpoint management, collaboration platforms, and telecommunications.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery preparedness, business continuity, and operational resilience across all global sites.
  • Modernize legacy systems while minimizing disruption of business activities.
  • Manage global technology support service operations, maintaining standards for service delivery, SLAs, and user satisfaction.
  • Define and implement cybersecurity strategies addressing risk management, incident response, security operations, identity and vulnerability management, and third-party risks.
  • Maintain compliance with regulated technology frameworks such as GxP, FDA, GDPR, SOC, ISO, and others.
  • Partner with quality assurance and regulatory teams to support computerized system validation, audit readiness, and compliance measures.
  • Lead enterprise data governance, analytics, reporting, and AI-driven insights strategies.
  • Identify and deploy scalable technology platforms to accommodate global expansion and operational growth.
  • Administer technology budgeting, forecasting, software licenses, contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Implement performance metrics and reporting tools to showcase technology value and business impact.
  • Build, mentor, and direct a high-performing global technology organization across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Cultivate a culture centered on accountability, innovation, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
  • Investigate, develop, and scale AI, automation, and emerging technologies to bolster competitive advantage and business results.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in technology leadership, including roles at the senior executive level.
  • Proven track record leading global technology divisions within highly regulated sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, biotech, pharmaceuticals, or clinical research.
  • Deep knowledge of GxP standards, computerized system validation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in driving enterprise-wide transformations, technology modernization, and scaling initiatives.
  • Experience overseeing global infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and data environments.
  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional skills in executive communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing leadership.
  • Ability to balance innovation with operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and cost control.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and fostering cross-regional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as a Master’s or MBA.
  • Experience in clinical research, contract research organizations, or Phase 1 clinical trial settings.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems, clinical technology solutions, and regulated data environments.
  • Expertise with cloud migrations, AI projects, automation strategies, and modern enterprise architecture.
