Overview
Located in St. Louis, Missouri, The Gund Company is seeking a Vice President of Global Supply Chain to join their Executive Leadership Team. This pivotal role involves steering the entire global supply chain strategy and overseeing core operations such as sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, logistics, transportation, and managing supplier relationships. The goal is to ensure the supply chain supports the company's growth objectives, operational excellence, and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a global supply chain strategy aligned with corporate goals, covering sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventory, and transportation to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and scale operations.
- Manage end-to-end supply chain processes to maintain reliable and cost-effective operations. Employ lean, agile, and continuous improvement principles while integrating advanced analytics, forecasting, and emerging technology for enhanced decision-making.
- Lead strategic supplier partnerships through negotiation and relationship management to secure value, performance, and risk mitigation. Build a robust supplier network supporting global expansion.
- Design risk mitigation plans addressing supply disruptions, geopolitical challenges, and market variability. Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing, regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing global supply chain team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth. Support professional development and succession planning.
- Direct budgeting, cost controls, and financial planning related to supply chain activities. Monitor key performance indicators and report to support strategic business decisions.
- Represent The Gund Company at industry events, maintain awareness of global supply chain trends, and advise on best practices and strategy.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a technical field; Master’s degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
- Over 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, and operations leadership.
- At least 5 years of expertise in international trade.
- Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide supply chain strategies.
- Strong negotiation capabilities and financial insight.
- Experience in risk management, sustainability initiatives, and global compliance requirements.
- Track record of leading cross-functional teams and effecting cultural transformation.
- Excellent communication skills with executive presence.
- Competence in conflict resolution, grievance management, and building solid vendor relationships.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or quality systems are preferred.
- Willingness to travel 25–30% domestically and internationally.
