Overview
Quantinuum is searching for a visionary global executive to lead its Facilities, Security, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) operations. This role involves managing the company's worldwide real estate holdings, facilities management, physical and cybersecurity efforts, and adherence to health and safety practices. The position is pivotal in fostering operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulations, and building scalable infrastructure to support rapid expansion, sophisticated research environments, and crucial business functions. The leader will collaborate across departments to create secure, efficient, and sustainable workplaces, balancing cost control and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement the global strategies for facilities and real estate aligned with business growth and innovation goals.
- Manage processes such as site identification, lease agreements, capital projects, and optimization of the property portfolio.
- Oversee the design, construction, and operation of intricate spaces including laboratories, cleanrooms, and technical facilities.
- Improve cost efficiencies, enhance vendor performance, and develop long-term asset plans.
- Ensure the dependability and availability of critical infrastructure systems like HVAC, power supplies, and specialized laboratory setups.
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D units to support cutting-edge technical equipment and experimental settings.
- Define standards for equipment maintenance, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.
- Lead strategies for physical and cybersecurity encompassing access controls, monitoring, incident response, and risk reduction.
- Safeguard personnel, intellectual property, and sensitive assets across global sites.
- Work closely with cybersecurity, legal, and regulatory teams on integrated risk oversight.
- Develop and maintain a top-tier HSE program that complies with all local, national, and international laws.
- Cultivate a proactive safety culture in laboratories, manufacturing, and office environments.
- Oversee risk evaluations, audits, training programs, and incident handling.
- Build and guide a high-performing, diverse global team across multiple disciplines.
- Establish governance, policies, and key performance indicators for the operation of facilities, security, and safety.
- Coordinate with executive leadership on risk management, business continuity, and organizational resilience.
- Manage budget allocations, capital investments, and vendor partnerships.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 20 years experience in leadership roles involving facilities, security, and/or HSE functions.
- Must meet U.S. Person status as defined by citizenship, permanent residency, or authorized asylum/refugee status.
- Due to U.S. national security regulations, applicants cannot be nationals of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless they also hold U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Attributes
- Extensive experience managing large, multi-location operations within complex, technical, or regulated industries.
- Advanced educational qualifications such as an MBA or other master’s degrees.
- Background supporting research and development labs, advanced manufacturing, or semiconductor/quantum technology environments.
- Strong familiarity with global regulatory frameworks including OSHA, ISO standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Proven accomplishments in scaling infrastructure in fast-growing and innovation-driven companies.
- Expertise in physical security measures and enterprise risk management.
- Demonstrated capability in leading cross-functional teams simultaneously.
Additional Information
- Incentive eligible with annual compensation ranging from $344,000 to $412,500, inclusive of bonus potential. Actual salary depends on skills, qualifications, and experience.
- Travel requirements are approximately 25% to 40% of the time.
