About The Luxury Closet
The Luxury Closet is a leading platform in the Middle East specializing in buying and selling authenticated pre-owned luxury items. Having secured over $30 million in funding and operating across the GCC region—including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and India—this company emphasizes a lean structure with high accountability where every employee's contribution is significant.
Role Overview
The company is seeking a Vice President of Finance to take charge of the entire financial operations spanning UAE, India, and Saudi Arabia. This position demands building the financial infrastructure from the ground up to support the next phase of expansion, direct a team of accountants, and act as a strategic partner to the CEO and board members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive financial planning, analysis, and reporting across the three jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain dynamic growth scenario models to guide investment and market entry strategies.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management focusing on capital efficiency.
- Create financial frameworks linking operational metrics to business results.
- Collaborate with the CEO on fundraising approaches, investor communications, and board reporting requirements.
- Manage the accounting team to ensure accurate, timely bookkeeping and compliance with diverse regulatory regimes.
- Coordinate statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory adherence in UAE, India, and Saudi Arabia.
- Oversee Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance within UAE operations, including KYC procedures and transaction monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax, India GST, and Saudi VAT systems.
- Handle transfer pricing and inter-company financial transactions across countries.
- Prepare materials, financial presentations, and management commentary for quarterly board meetings.
- Maintain investor communications, manage data rooms, and handle due diligence during fundraising phases.
- Maintain financial models, capitalization tables, and scenario analyses to support investor engagement.
- Represent a credible, knowledgeable voice during board discussions on financial performance and strategic decision-making.
- Supervise legal matters such as commercial contracts, licensing, and corporate governance.
- Maintain strong ties with external legal advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities across jurisdictions.
- Ensure corporate frameworks and governance structures support ongoing growth and regulatory compliance.
- Stay informed of regulatory developments in UAE, India, and Saudi Arabia impacting the business landscape.
Candidate Profile
- Over 15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles such as VP Finance or Finance Director.
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or ACCA.
- Extensive experience managing finance across multiple jurisdictions, with UAE and India as essential markets; exposure to Saudi Arabia and USA is highly advantageous.
- Background in e-commerce, marketplaces, or technology-driven consumer sectors is preferred.
- Proven expertise in board reporting, investor relations, and fundraising procedures.
- Practical knowledge of UAE regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
- Strong familiarity with UAE Corporate Tax, India direct and indirect taxation, and GCC VAT policies.
- Expertise in building financial models that support growth decisions, pricing strategies, and market expansion assessments.
- Experience with Big Four or other top-tier audit firms is considered a plus.
Ideal Attributes
- An operational mindset that seeks to understand underlying revenue drivers rather than just reporting outcomes.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills tailored to boards, investors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proactive problem-solving ability to tackle ambiguous challenges independently.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, lean organizational environment focused on system building and innovation.
- Genuine curiosity about business metrics, ranging from customer acquisition costs to EBITDA performance.
Additional Details
- Work location is India, with regular travel to Dubai for board and strategic meetings.
- Position type is full-time.
- Compensation is competitive and corresponds to the complexity and scope of responsibilities.
- Travel commitments include quarterly trips to the UAE and occasional visits to Saudi Arabia as required.
