Vice President of Enterprise Project Management

Position summary

This senior leadership position is responsible for steering enterprise-wide project governance, driving strategic program delivery, and overseeing cross-functional project management activities across the organization. The role partners with executive leaders and department stakeholders to raise delivery standards, improve execution discipline, and advance initiatives that support long-term business goals.

About the role

The organization is looking for a highly experienced, execution-oriented leader to shape enterprise project management strategy, governance models, and large-scale program execution. The role focuses on improving consistency in delivery, streamlining project processes, and ensuring operational alignment across multiple business areas.

This leader will work closely with teams in operations, product, engineering, finance, customer success, and executive management to strengthen project oversight, improve efficiency, and enable scalable growth.

Enterprise project strategy and governance

• Create and sustain company-wide project management standards, governance structures, and delivery methods.
• Help drive strategic planning and the execution of enterprise initiatives across departments and business units.
• Increase project transparency, strengthen reporting, and reinforce accountability across the organization.
• Build repeatable governance processes for planning, delivery, resource management, and risk control.
• Track enterprise project outcomes and flag opportunities to improve operations.

Program and portfolio management

• Direct enterprise project portfolios, strategic programs, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Support project prioritization based on company objectives and available operational capacity.
• Coordinate resource planning, delivery schedules, and inter-team dependencies.
• Assess project risks, workflow constraints, and delivery obstacles.
• Maintain consistent execution standards across enterprise initiatives.

Operational leadership

• Oversee PMO operations and project management leadership teams at the enterprise level.
• Strengthen collaboration among operations, engineering, product, finance, customer success, and other business teams.
• Support workflow improvements, delivery governance, and operational planning efforts.
• Promote efficient, scalable project execution practices throughout the company.
• Assist senior leadership with enterprise execution management and organizational coordination.

Cross-functional collaboration

• Work with executive leadership and stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Ensure enterprise project priorities stay aligned with company objectives and strategic programs.
• Enable communication among technical, operational, and business teams.
• Provide leadership with execution updates, operational insights, and portfolio reporting.
• Support company-wide coordination on strategic programs and initiatives.

Team leadership

• Guide project management directors, program managers, and PMO leadership teams.
• Foster a team environment centered on collaboration and accountability.
• Support coaching, mentoring, and leadership development activities.
• Contribute to workforce planning, team alignment, and effectiveness.
• Encourage continuous improvement and strong enterprise PM best practices.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related field is required. The role calls for 15+ years of leadership experience in enterprise project management, program management, PMO leadership, or operational execution. Candidates should have managed large-scale cross-functional initiatives in fast-moving business environments and bring strong organizational leadership, communication, and strategic execution capabilities. The ability to coordinate across departments and support enterprise-wide alignment is essential, along with familiarity with project lifecycle management, governance frameworks, and portfolio management methods.

Preferred experience

Experience in SaaS, technology, fintech, AI, platform-based businesses, or enterprise operations is preferred. Familiarity with enterprise PMO systems, reporting tools, and project management software is also valued. Candidates with exposure to global or multi-regional project operations, organizational transformation, scaling initiatives, and enterprise process improvement will be well aligned. Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum, or similar credentials are preferred.
