About the Role

Integrated Power Services (IPS) invites applications for a Vice President of Engineering for its Power Management Division based in Dallas, TX. This strategic executive position is focused on scaling and transforming the engineering function to ensure operational excellence across power systems, engineered services, and complex system integration projects. The incumbent will pioneer enterprise-wide engineering standards, governance frameworks, and best practices to support IPS’s growth into larger, more intricate customer solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic vision and execute an engineering roadmap aligned with the company’s growth goals.
  • Lead the transition from decentralized engineering teams to a cohesive, centralized engineering organization with standardized processes, tools, and governance.
  • Establish and maintain technical consistency and governance for medium and high voltage distribution system designs, including switchgear, switchboards, breakers, and protection systems.
  • Build scalable engineering capabilities and frameworks to support integrated system-level solutions, including partnerships with commercial teams for consistent estimating and solution development.
  • Engage directly with key strategic customers as the technical authority on complex engineering solutions.
  • Guide product development initiatives to introduce standardized, modular system offerings and lead innovation efforts around cost optimization, reliability enhancements, and digital technology integration.
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team by defining organizational structures, recruiting, developing talent, and establishing training and career paths.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards and regulatory compliance (IEEE, NFPA, NEC, NETA, UL).
  • Implement metrics and KPIs that promote continuous engineering performance improvement.
  • Support enterprise-wide initiatives including AI, data strategies, and intellectual property management.
  • Oversee project execution with emphasis on technical quality, compliance, timely delivery, and margin integrity through engineering efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is mandatory.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in power systems engineering and leadership.
  • Strong background in UL891 and UL1558 design and certification, power distribution system integration, and HV/MV transformers.
  • Experience with integrated control systems, automation, and digital platform technologies.
  • Proven track record leading matrixed engineering organizations and scaling teams in complex environments.
  • Excellent commercial acumen paired with experience supporting sales proposals and customer engagements.
