Role Overview

As Vice President of Engineering, you will shape the technical direction of the business while guiding the engineering organization through continued growth. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement, requiring someone who can set a clear vision, support product development, and step into complex technical challenges when needed.

What You Will Do

  • Steer the engineering organization by defining technical direction, product strategy, roadmap priorities, and long-term vision in line with business goals.
  • Run the day-to-day engineering function to keep delivery efficient, output high-quality, and teams using resources effectively.
  • Guide architecture and system design decisions so the platform remains scalable, fast, and reliable.
  • Stay technically engaged, including writing code when appropriate, mentoring team members, and helping solve difficult engineering problems.
  • Promote strong engineering practices across the full product lifecycle, with an emphasis on continuous delivery and operational discipline.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain strong global engineering teams while encouraging accountability, creativity, and ongoing learning.
  • Apply experience from high-growth and international scale-up environments to manage expansion and complexity successfully.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to clarify scope, set priorities, and build roadmaps that reflect customer and market needs.

What You Need

  • Proven success in a similar product leadership position, especially within a scale-up software environment.
  • At least 10 years of experience in engineering and 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Preference for candidates with experience building and growing a B2B2C SaaS platform.
  • Track record of expanding engineering teams and guiding technical efforts in fast-growing businesses.
  • Comfort with coding and a willingness to remain hands-on when the situation calls for it.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical strategy clearly to executives and collaborate effectively with engineers and business stakeholders.
  • A belief that engineering excellence is a core business advantage and a driver of scalable innovation.
