This position also serves as Deputy Director of the BLFC Foundation, working closely with its Executive Director to implement funded programs.
Key Responsibilities

- Act as the Club’s lead community relationship manager, fostering collaboration with mayors, legislators, agency heads, and civic institutions to align the Club’s growth with city priorities.
- Participate as a permanent member on boards, commissions, and civic coalitions, helping to influence policy and investment decisions benefiting the community.
- Design and oversee the activation of flagship community and philanthropic initiatives through your team and partners.
- Negotiate and formalize partnerships with key anchor institutions such as school districts, governments, youth soccer federations, and nonprofits, authorized to allocate Club resources.
- Facilitate ongoing dialogue with local residents and leaders to ensure programs meet community needs and adapt approaches accordingly.
- Define the Club’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion framework for engagement across diverse neighborhoods and ensure adherence internally and externally.
- Establish and manage the Club’s development efforts to meet fundraising targets jointly set with senior leadership and the Foundation.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations to finance community programs.
- Oversee the grant pipeline including research, proposal submissions, reporting, and compliance.
- Represent the Club with donors and partners, sustaining long-term support for community initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, and executives as the authoritative voice on community strategy.
- Lead community impact and development reporting, presenting outcomes to leadership to guide future investments.
- Support Foundation leadership as Deputy Director to align fundraising and programming efforts.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, government relations, nonprofit development, or related senior leadership roles.
- Strong and current connections within civic, philanthropic, and community networks in Boston and Brockton.
- Proven ability to establish and manage community engagement or social impact programs at an executive level.
- Successful track record in nonprofit fundraising including engaging major donors, corporations, foundations, and managing grant processes.
- Experience in board or civic leadership roles.
- Cultural competency and credibility across diverse communities with a genuine commitment to equitable representation.
- Excellent relationship management, public speaking, and negotiation skills with comfort serving as a senior organizational representative.
- Entrepreneurial mindset capable of strategic planning and hands-on execution in a startup environment.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and be physically present across Boston and Brockton, especially on matchdays and events.
Compensation and Benefits
