Overview

The Vice President of Casino Operations at Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino leads strategic direction and day-to-day management for all casino gaming activities across multiple locations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this senior executive is accountable for optimizing gaming revenue, EBITDA, regulatory adherence, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This role collaborates closely with the Executive Leadership Team to drive business plans, marketing strategies, capital investments, and technology initiatives that strengthen competitive positioning and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and management for casino gaming, including Slots, Table Games, Poker, Sportsbook, and Player Development.
  • Set and align operational objectives with organizational goals, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
  • Oversee multi-department and multi-property gaming operations to meet revenue, service, compliance, and financial targets.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets; monitor financials and KPI dashboards covering revenue, EBITDA, labor productivity, guest satisfaction, and compliance.
  • Utilize data analytics and player behavior insights to inform operational and marketing strategies.
  • Lead initiatives for gaming floor renovations, expansions, product conversions, and technology deployments.
  • Negotiate and manage key vendor and partner relationships to maximize value.
  • Ensure compliance with Tribal regulations, gaming ordinances, AML, Title 31, and internal controls.
  • Promote excellent guest experiences, resolving concerns and driving customer loyalty programs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop executive and management teams; champion succession planning and leadership growth.
  • Represent the organization professionally with Tribal Council, Boards, Gaming Commission, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Hospitality, Casino Management, or related discipline; Master's or MBA strongly preferred.
  • At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in casino gaming operations.
  • Minimum 10 years in senior/executive roles such as Director or VP overseeing significant P&L and operational responsibilities, preferably multi-property.
  • Proven success managing gaming operations generating $100M+ in annual revenue.
  • Strong expertise in Class II and III gaming regulations, Tribal ordinances, NIGC, AML/BSA compliance, internal controls, and responsible gaming.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve revenue, EBITDA, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency through strategic leadership.
  • Experience presenting complex financial and operational data to executive boards and regulatory bodies.
  • Skilled in technology adoption including casino management, player tracking, analytics, loyalty programs, and new gaming technologies.
  • Exceptional ethical standards and ability to maintain required gaming licenses.
  • Preferred: Tribal gaming executive leadership experience, sportsbook operations, major casino renovations or openings, and AAA Four Diamond resort environment knowledge.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Requires frequent standing, walking, handling objects, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to loud noise, possible secondhand smoke, biohazards, and high-stress/hostile guest interactions.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite leadership role based in Mescalero, NM.
