Job description
About the Company
Our client is a prominent global organisation within the marketing, data, and technology sector, operating at extensive scale across multiple international regions. Their international division is currently undergoing a transformative phase with initiatives including globalising internal functions, migrating to cloud platforms, and evolving diverse operating models across markets. The business operates leanly with a strong commercial focus but lacks a dedicated operational leader to oversee cross-functional initiatives, resulting in potential gaps in accountability.
Position Overview
This newly established position reports directly to senior international leadership and aims to relieve their workload by fully managing the operational agenda. The role is focused internally and does not involve client interaction or revenue generation. Instead, it ensures the smooth execution of key operational projects that lack clear ownership and aligns the international business’s operations with corporate strategy through actionable plans.
The role encompasses a broad spectrum, including international project management, process optimization, and representing the international division in group-wide committees. A global perspective is critical, enabling localisation of global strategies to fit specific markets.
This is a proactive, hands-on role where the leader is expected not only to strategize but also to translate ideas into structured projects and drive them to completion, while advocating for operational investments and priority setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert corporate strategy into clear operational objectives, key metrics, and guidelines for the international business.
- Manage a portfolio of crucial internal projects currently lacking dedicated operational leadership.
- Assess and enhance business processes to increase efficiency, scale systems effectively, and reduce costs.
- Lead several strategic projects simultaneously across various geographical markets and business units.
- Develop and implement KPIs to measure performance and enable evidence-based decisions.
- Identify proactively potential operational, governance, and business risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in operational roles within marketing, data, technology agencies, or comparable large-scale organisations.
- Strong process orientation with proven capabilities in project management, prioritising initiatives, improving efficiency, and scaling internal systems.
- Experienced in working across diverse international markets with the ability to customise global initiatives appropriately.
- Robust analytical skills including familiarity with data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to unify cross-functional teams and drive projects forward.
- Professional background predominantly in operations, marketing, or delivery functions rather than sales, client services, creative roles, or HR.
- Demonstrated high ownership and accountability; this role demands an empowered, autonomous approach rather than passive project oversight.
Additional Information
This position offers an exceptional chance to influence the operational trajectory of an internationally recognised leader within the marketing, data, and technology arena. There is significant potential for career progression beyond the initial scope of this role.
