Job description
About PDQ
PDQ was established in Salt Lake City, Utah, and builds simple, secure device management software that helps IT teams reduce complexity, work more efficiently, and maintain better control in their environments. The company is supported by TA Associates and Berkshire Partners.
Role Overview
As the Vice President of Marketing and a member of PDQ’s executive leadership group, you will own the marketing function and guide the company’s broader marketing direction. The role brings together team leadership, goal and timeline planning, budget oversight, and both internal and external communications. You will work closely with partners across product, sales, revenue operations, engineering, finance, and customer success to create strong customer experiences that support revenue growth.
Why This Role Matters
PDQ already serves a loyal, highly motivated customer base through product-led growth and is now extending into the mid-market while telling a more compelling AI-focused product story. Marketing is central to connecting these priorities by reaching the right buyers with the right message and turning product momentum into pipeline and revenue. In this role, you will define how PDQ is positioned in the market, shape the company narrative, and build the go-to-market approach for the next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, refine, and carry out the company-wide marketing strategy so it aligns with PDQ’s goals and overall vision.
- Monitor and improve core SaaS performance indicators such as CAC payback, conversion rates, and marketing-generated ARR, using data to uncover growth opportunities and anticipate market shifts.
- Partner with product, sales, and other internal functions to keep marketing initiatives aligned with product launches, selling motions, and broader company programs.
- Lead and develop marketing teams while encouraging a collaborative, inclusive, and motivating team environment.
- Own the self-serve growth engine by applying product-led growth methods to increase acquisition, activation, retention, and cost-efficient customer growth.
- Design and execute the strategy for mid-market expansion, including positioning, messaging, funnel design, and communication of PDQ’s AI-enhanced product story.
Minimum Qualifications
- Several years of experience in senior marketing leadership roles, ideally in technology, with a record of building and executing marketing strategies that support business growth.
- A strong analytical approach with experience using data to drive marketing decisions and work with SaaS metrics such as CAC payback, conversion rates, and marketing-sourced ARR.
- Deep familiarity with product-led growth and the ability to use PLG principles to drive scalable, durable growth for a technology product or service.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, sales, revenue operations, engineering, finance, and customer success teams.
- Experience managing and mentoring marketing teams in a fast-growing SaaS or technology environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in marketing to IT professionals or in endpoint management or IT management software.
- Experience developing AI product narratives and positioning for technical audiences.
- Experience helping a SaaS business expand from SMB into the mid-market.
- Experience in a private-equity-backed or similarly high-growth setting where marketing is tied directly to revenue outcomes.
Who You Are
- You are an experienced marketing leader with a track record of delivering business growth through thoughtful strategy and execution.
- You are comfortable with numbers, analysis, and turning insights into practical actions that improve performance.
- You understand product-led growth deeply and know how to apply it to build sustainable growth for a tech company.
Core Values
- Honesty: You communicate openly and earn trust through your actions.
- Ownership: You take responsibility for outcomes and honor your commitments.
- Collaboration: You value different viewpoints and work well across teams.
- Improvement: You actively look for ways to learn, grow, and innovate.
