Role Summary
The Vice President of Human Resources is a part-time, remote leadership position accountable for shaping ETI’s people strategy and overseeing HR operations. The role is responsible for building and maintaining HR policies and procedures that align with company goals and legal requirements. It includes advising leadership on workforce planning, handling employee relations issues, managing benefits and compensation practices, ensuring HRIS data accuracy, tracking HR metrics, and supporting compliance with employment laws and internal standards. The position also contributes to talent acquisition, performance management, and learning and development efforts to help build an inclusive and high-performing remote workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization’s overall human resources strategy and support organizational development efforts.
- Create, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures that meet compliance needs and business objectives.
- Advise senior leadership on workforce planning and people-related decision-making.
- Manage employee relations activities such as conflict resolution, coaching, investigations, and support for performance issues.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, including medical, retirement, leave, and wellness offerings.
- Support compensation administration and related HR practices.
- Oversee HRIS usage, maintain data quality, and improve HR reporting and automation where possible.
- Monitor HR metrics and use data to support informed management decisions.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Support hiring, performance management, and learning and development initiatives in a distributed work setting.
Qualifications
- Extensive HR leadership background with experience in strategic planning and organizational development.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and sustain HR policies and procedures.
- Strong experience in employee relations, including conflict management, coaching, investigations, and performance support.
- Experience administering employee benefits such as health, retirement, leave, and wellness programs.
- Practical experience with HRIS platforms, HR reporting, and workflow automation.
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to perform effectively in a remote, part-time executive role and work with distributed teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities, with strong attention to equity, inclusion, and confidentiality.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an advanced degree or HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR is preferred.
- Experience in technology, consulting, or professional services is an advantage.
