About the Role
A prominent aerospace and defense manufacturer located in the Midwest U.S.A. is actively seeking an accomplished Vice President & General Manager to spearhead the next stage of dynamic operational growth and strategic development. This position demands proactive, hands-on leadership in a fast-moving, highly accountable manufacturing environment where effective execution is critical. The company is involved in vital aerospace and defense projects and is currently expanding due to new contracts, acquisitions, and sustained growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership through periods of rapid growth and scaling initiatives.
- Drive operational excellence by improving EBITDA, throughput, quality, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Lead and integrate cross-disciplinary teams including operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management.
- Maintain close engagement with the manufacturing floor while contributing strategically.
- Build high-performing teams and instill a culture of accountability and urgency.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of leadership experience within aerospace and defense manufacturing.
- Background as Plant Manager, Director, VP of Operations, or General Manager.
- Experience with precision machining, fabrication, welding, assemblies, or complex manufacturing processes is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in scaling operations effectively during phases of significant expansion.
- Strong track record in managing AS9100 certified and defense manufacturing environments preferred.
- Experience with private equity-backed or fast-growth companies is highly desirable.
