Job description

Role overview

The Vice President of Enterprise Project Management is a senior executive role focused on shaping how major initiatives are governed, prioritized, and delivered across the business. The position owns enterprise project strategy, portfolio oversight, and the creation of a centralized Enterprise PMO. By building a common governance model, improving how resources are assigned, and deepening collaboration between departments, this leader helps the company execute strategic work more effectively and create stronger business outcomes.

Enterprise project strategy and governance

This leader will define the organization’s enterprise project management direction and build the governance structure that supports it. The role includes setting project policies, standards, workflows, and control mechanisms, while ensuring that the project system stays tightly connected to corporate objectives. A major part of the job is moving the organization from isolated project delivery toward enterprise-wide governance.

Enterprise PMO setup and leadership

The role is responsible for establishing and running the Enterprise Project Management Office. This includes putting in place processes for project intake, approval, prioritization, and resource planning. The VP will also standardize methodologies, tools, and templates, while introducing practices that improve overall project management maturity.

Portfolio, program, and execution management

The position oversees strategic portfolios and major programs, including investment prioritization, resource balancing, and risk management across the project lifecycle. The leader will also guide high-impact initiatives such as digital transformation, organizational improvement, and systems implementation, making sure project progress, budget, quality, risk, and value delivery remain on track.

Cross-functional coordination and performance reporting

This role requires strong coordination across business, operations, finance, HR, and technology teams. The VP will help resolve cross-functional dependencies, support governance committees, and reduce organizational silos. In addition, the role includes building KPI tracking, project health monitoring, and value assessment systems, along with regular reporting to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team.

Team capability building

The VP will help build a strong PMO organization and develop project governance and leadership talent. The role also includes creating a knowledge-sharing culture and ensuring that proven practices are captured and reused across the company.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Project Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Advanced credentials such as an MBA, PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or similar certifications are preferred.

Applicants should bring at least 20 years of experience in project management, strategy execution, or operations management, including no less than 15 years at the enterprise governance level. Experience building PMOs for large organizations and managing complex programs is required, along with exposure to digital transformation, organizational change, or enterprise-scale upgrade initiatives.

Preferred background

Experience in large conglomerates, multinational companies, or publicly listed organizations is an advantage. Additional exposure to ERP programs, global project delivery, restructuring, M&A integration, or broader corporate transformation work is also preferred. Prior reporting experience with boards or executive governance teams will strengthen the profile.

Success measures

Performance for this role will be measured through improved on-time delivery of strategic projects, stronger return on investment and value realization, higher PMO maturity, better resource utilization, and more effective collaboration across departments.
