Job description

Overview

We are looking for a Vice President specializing in Emerging Market (EM) Rates Sales to support our regional and global institutional investor clients. This position is a key part of the EM Rates / Macro Sales team, focusing on delivering both flow and solution-oriented rates products throughout Asia and international hubs.

About the Role

Operating within the Fixed Income division, this role demands agility in navigating fast-paced, ever-evolving global markets. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing risk, trading securities, fostering client relationships, and structuring innovative transactions.

The Asia Macro Sales team serves a diverse clientele ranging from Real Money and Hedge Fund investors to Global Macro accounts. The team executes frequent transactions across FX, interest rates, and commodities products, including FX options, bonds, interest rate swaps, and government bonds. Acting as the firm's frontline interface, the sales unit collaborates closely with internal teams such as traders, structurers, and research analysts to ensure optimal client coverage and trade execution.

Based in Singapore, the successful candidate will work closely with EM Rates Trading, Structuring, and Research teams to provide market insights, trade ideas, and risk management solutions for local and hard currency rates markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop institutional client relationships including asset managers, hedge funds, banks, insurers, and sovereign or quasi-sovereign entities.
  • Generate revenue through sales of EM rates products, such as local currency rates; IRS, OIS, NDF-linked rates products; bonds, swaps, futures, and options.
  • Deliver both flow execution and tailored solution-oriented trades that align with client investment and hedging objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on EM macro and rates markets offering trade ideas, relative-value opportunities, market color, liquidity updates, and policy-driven insights related to rates, inflation, and central bank activity.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of regional EM markets, emphasizing Asian EM with global connections.
  • Collaborate closely with EM Rates Trading for pricing, risk management, and efficient client flow execution.
  • Partner with Structuring teams for offering bespoke hedging and yield solutions.
  • Work in conjunction with Research to communicate thematic and tactical market views to clients.
  • Uphold stringent compliance with internal risk controls, governance, and regulatory standards, including proper documentation, suitability, and client approvals.
  • Set a high standard for conduct and control within the sales team.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

  • 6 to 12+ years of relevant experience in EM Rates Sales, Macro Sales, or Fixed Income Sales at a global investment bank or prominent financial institution.
  • Strong expertise and familiarity with Asian EM rates markets; broader EM experience is a plus.
  • Excellent commercial intuition with proven ability to identify and capitalize on client opportunities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various rates products, market structures, and risk dynamics.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying complex market views to sophisticated clients.
  • Collaborative approach with strong skills in managing internal stakeholders.
  • Possession of a degree-level educational qualification.
