About the Company
Saviynt provides an AI-driven identity platform that governs human and non-human access across applications, data, and business workflows. The platform helps organizations protect digital assets, improve efficiency, and lower compliance costs while enabling safer use of AI. Saviynt is known for identity security solutions used by leading global brands, Fortune 500 enterprises, and public sector organizations.
Role Overview
The Sr. Director - Customer Security & Trust is a senior, customer-facing security leader who represents the company’s security stance to prospects and existing customers. Working closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance, this role leads technical security conversations, supports due diligence before procurement, and strengthens customer confidence in the company’s security architecture, controls, and operating maturity.
This position calls for a highly technical professional, typically with a background as a Security Architect or Principal Security Engineer, who can explain security topics clearly and credibly to external technical audiences, including senior cybersecurity leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main security contact in customer and prospect discussions, including security deep-dives, architecture walkthroughs, due diligence, and executive-level briefings.
- Explain the organization’s security architecture, threat modeling, control environment, and risk management approach across cloud, application, data, and identity layers.
- Lead technical security conversations during pre-procurement stages and address concerns around confidentiality, integrity, availability, privacy, and compliance.
- Work with Sales and Customer Success to keep deal cycles moving by resolving security objections early and building trust.
- Serve as the liaison between customers and internal security, engineering, and product teams to align on requirements, risks, and roadmap considerations.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the company’s security design, tools, processes, and incident response capabilities to ensure messaging is accurate and consistent.
- Represent the security program in customer-led penetration testing conversations, third-party assessments, and assurance reviews.
- Help improve customer-facing security materials such as whitepapers, architecture diagrams, trust resources, and FAQs.
- Monitor changing customer security expectations, regulatory developments, and industry practices to guide security strategy and external messaging.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in information security, with deep exposure to security architecture, cloud security, application security, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical security discussions with customers, auditors, or regulators.
- Strong understanding of modern security design across AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as SaaS environments, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Solid knowledge of identity and access management, encryption, network security, application security, logging and monitoring, and incident response.
- Practical familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, CSA CCM, and privacy laws such as GDPR.
- Ability to simplify complex technical topics into clear explanations for both business and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, along with strong executive presence.
Preferred Experience
- Background in a customer-facing security function such as Customer Security Architect, Security Assurance, or Trust Office.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or AWS/Azure security certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience collaborating with legal, compliance, and privacy teams on customer assurance matters.
Why This Role Matters
This position is central to building and sustaining customer trust. You will represent the company’s security program and help customers understand not only what controls exist, but also why they matter and how they are implemented. Your technical depth, credibility, and communication skills will have a direct impact on customer confidence and business growth.
Training, Policies, and Compliance Expectations
If the role requires it, you will complete security and privacy awareness training during onboarding and every year thereafter. You will also review, understand, and follow Information Security and Privacy policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
- Data Classification, Retention & Handling Policy
- Incident Response Policy/Procedures
- Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Policy/Procedures
- Mobile Device Policy
- Account Management Policy
- Access Control Policy
- Personnel Security Policy
