Role Overview
The Vice President of CPG Partnerships role centers on cultivating strategic, brand-funded collaborations involving offers, discounts, cashback promotions, product launches, and shopper marketing. The position requires deep ties in the consumer packaged goods sector to position Sezzle as a preferred partner for leading brands. Unlike roles focused on account management, this job prioritizes creating new opportunities and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture executive-level connections within top Fortune 500 CPG companies.
- Act as Sezzle's primary representative in the CPG and shopper marketing circles.
- Source and develop new strategic partnership opportunities that deliver value for consumers, brands, and Sezzle.
- Maintain a long-term pipeline of partnership initiatives.
- Attend and represent Sezzle at leading industry conferences.
- Inform CPG executives about Sezzle’s consumer demographics, purchasing data, and outcome metrics.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends in shopper marketing, retail media, and promotional tactics.
- Negotiate and close exclusive offers including discounts, cashback, product launches, and sampling programs aligned with brand goals.
- Collaborate with retail partners to explore joint promotions.
- Lead contract negotiations, working closely with Legal and Finance teams to scale agreements.
- Create case studies documenting partnership successes.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Data Science teams to implement requested capabilities and measure ROI.
- Mentor future partnership managers as the team expands.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience establishing commercial partnerships within Fortune 500 CPG firms.
- Proven track record of originating and closing intricate strategic deals.
- Existing upper-management relationships across major CPG manufacturers.
- Strong knowledge of shopper marketing, retail media, loyalty programs, and brand-driven marketing techniques.
- Experience in negotiating multi-million dollar agreements.
- Skilled in executive communication and relationship building.
- Consultative approach to partnership development.
- Self-driven and thrives in entrepreneurial environments.
Preferred Background
- Experience with platforms and companies like Fetch Rewards, Ibotta, Rakuten, Shopkick, Upside, InMarket, and others in retail media and consumer fintech.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $300,000 OTE annually, dependent on experience and qualifications, with potential for above-range offers for outstanding candidates.
