Role Summary
The Vice President in Corporate Relationship Management will oversee daily management and growth of a portfolio containing senior or large corporate clients within an assigned country, working towards financial targets. This role serves as a key point to extend the bank's full spectrum of products and services, including credit, deposits, international transactions, and specialized financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive implementation of strategic plans and objectives to fulfill volume, revenue, and profit goals for corporate banking aligned with QNB Group's corporate strategy and budget.
- Continuously propose innovative business initiatives aimed at revenue enhancement.
- Establish and track KPIs to monitor performance and quality across the Corporate Banking unit.
- Promote operational efficiency, cost reduction, and productivity improvements.
- Operate within delegated authority limits, overseeing staff and ensuring policy compliance.
- Manage relationships with potential and current corporate clients, meeting both financial and non-financial targets following credit policies and standards.
- Foster strong coordination with relevant departments to achieve organizational objectives.
- Supervise and guide Relationship Managers (RMs) and Assistant Relationship Managers (ARMs), ensuring adequate training and support.
- Lead business development, including credit assessment and recommendations for local and regional corporations.
- Provide timely, accurate reports to senior management and audit bodies on credit and compliance matters.
- Assist clients with product inquiries and resolution of requests while maintaining service level agreements to enhance turnaround times.
- Prepare detailed credit proposals and reviews adhering to risk management standards, maintaining up-to-date legal documents to protect bank interests.
- Identify and report adverse developments in client accounts proactively.
- Promote customer retention and business continuity through periodic client engagement and management of credit utilization.
- Coordinate problem resolution across departments ensuring consistent delivery of services.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to exceed industry standards, encouraging innovative thinking and recognition of creative solutions.
- Stay informed and knowledgeable about QNB’s credit policies, compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks.
- Mentor staff by evaluating performance, resolving conflicts, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
- Comply with all legal, regulatory, and internal controls including AML, anti-corruption, sanctions, data protection, fraud prevention, whistleblowing, and conflict of interest policies.
- Support risk management frameworks by monitoring, reporting, and mitigating operational risks.
- Uphold confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information and maintain high professional standards reflecting QNB's distinguished market position.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
- University degree (Bachelor’s) preferably in Finance, Banking, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Administration; a Master’s degree is highly valued.
- Proficient in English communication, both oral and written; knowledge of Arabic, French, or other local languages is an advantage.
- Extensive experience totalling at least 12 years in relationship management and credit within the banking sector.
- Strong familiarity with local commercial and banking environments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to achieving financial goals.
- Competency in computer use and professional report writing using bank-standard software.
