This position will focus on identifying, assessing, and delivering acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and other growth initiatives that expand the company’s capabilities, scale, and market position across hardware, software, services, commercial, supply chain, and business functions. The role also requires a strong emphasis on disciplined value creation and smooth post-transaction integration.
What You Will Do
- Define and lead the company’s corporate development and external growth strategy, including the key themes that should guide future expansion.
- Evaluate value chain positioning and uncover opportunities for vertical integration, supply chain improvement, and broader capability expansion to strengthen competitive advantage.
- Track market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to shape the M&A pipeline and identify potential acquisition or partnership targets.
- Create and run structured corporate development processes covering pipeline oversight, deal evaluation, due diligence, value assessment, value capture, and financial management.
- Manage the sourcing, qualification, and prioritization of the M&A funnel, with focus on both vertical and horizontal integration opportunities.
- Build investment cases that clearly explain strategic alignment, financial impact, and expected value creation from acquisitions and partnerships.
- Develop, govern, and grow strategic partnerships that produce measurable technical, commercial, strategic, and supply chain outcomes.
- Identify, structure, and execute joint ventures and alternative partnership models that open access to new markets, technologies, capabilities, and supply chain advantages.
- Lead transaction execution end to end with Finance and Legal partners, including diligence, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Own post-deal integration planning and delivery to realize synergies and align teams across hardware, software, commercial, business, and supply chain functions.
- Collaborate closely with Strategy, Product, Technical, Commercial, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain teams to maintain alignment from strategic planning through execution and integration.
- Prepare investment papers, strategic recommendations, and board or executive updates with strong clarity, rigor, and decision value.
Requirements
- 10+ years of leadership experience in corporate development, external growth strategy, M&A, and partnerships within complex, R&D-driven environments such as quantum, AI, semiconductors, or advanced computing.
- Hands-on experience spanning the full deal lifecycle, including sourcing, diligence, structuring, negotiation, and integration.
- Strong financial and strategic judgment, including valuation work, financial modeling, and preparation of investment cases.
- Background in building strategic partnerships and joint ventures that generate measurable outcomes.
- Ability to assess value chains, supply chain dynamics, and competitive positioning to guide growth decisions.
- Proven track record of leading post-transaction integration and capturing synergies across multiple functions.
- Comfort working across hardware, software, commercial, business, and supply chain teams while influencing without direct authority.
- Executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with senior leaders and board-level stakeholders.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing markets and with long-term investment horizons.
