Job description
About the Company
Marksman Security focuses on client service and career growth, delivering tailored security solutions for a wide range of respected companies and properties across the country. The organization has been named a nationally recognized Top Workplace in 2024 and 2025 by USA Today and is guided by the values of being Unified, Transparent, Innovative, Committed, and Accountable.
The company offers an environment for professionals who want meaningful work, opportunities to grow, and a chance to contribute to a culture of high standards and strong support.
Role Overview
Marksman Security is in a major growth phase and is seeking a transformational operations leader to build the systems and structure needed to support scale over the long term. Reporting to the COO, the Vice President of Business Operations will create and roll out standardized processes, operating playbooks, reporting tools, governance routines, and accountability systems across the organization.
This is a hands-on change leadership role for someone who thrives on taking unclear situations and turning them into scalable operating models. Rather than stepping into fully mature systems, the leader in this role will help design them from the ground up while working closely with Operations, HR, Finance, and Technology.
What You Will Build and Lead
- Create enterprise-level operating playbooks and repeatable business processes that bring consistency across the organization.
- Develop KPI structures, executive dashboards, and reporting systems that improve insight and support better decisions.
- Set up business rhythms such as weekly reviews, quarterly business reviews, governance routines, and accountability mechanisms.
- Lead cross-functional transformation programs from planning through execution, ensuring adoption across the company.
- Build change management approaches that help new processes and ways of working take hold.
- Work with HR to strengthen performance management, succession planning, and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Spot opportunities to use automation and AI to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and business execution.
Organizational Effectiveness and Talent Discipline
- Drive consistent playbooks and field execution standards across all regions.
- Partner with the CHRO to improve performance management systems and overall rigor.
- Help design and expand high-potential identification and development programs.
- Support succession planning for important operational and regional leadership positions.
- Align talent decisions with business results and strategic goals.
- Promote a culture centered on accountability, coaching, and measurable performance outcomes.
Expected Outcomes After 12 Months
- A fully established operating cadence and KPI framework.
- Clear visibility into performance, profitability, and cost drivers.
- Better forecast accuracy and stronger financial discipline.
- Higher accountability across regions and functions.
- More consistent field execution and playbook compliance.
- Successful rollout of major enterprise initiatives, including technology deployments, across regions.
- Stronger performance management practices and healthier talent pipelines.
- A leadership team that can make faster, better-informed, and more disciplined decisions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings deep business operations leadership experience, strong transformation capability, and the ability to build scalable systems in complex environments.
Experience Needed
- At least 10 years of experience leading business operations, operational excellence, process transformation, PMO, shared services, or continuous improvement efforts.
- Proven ability to build operating models, governance structures, and standardized processes in large multi-site organizations.
- Track record of creating playbooks, operating cadences, KPI frameworks, and accountability systems from scratch.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation programs across Operations, HR, Finance, and Technology.
- Background in large distributed organizations with 5,000+ employees.
- Experience in field-based industries such as security, facilities, logistics, or services is preferred.
Core Capabilities
- Strong business understanding with the ability to connect operations, financial results, and execution.
- Structured, systems-driven approach to performance, programs, and people processes.
- Strong program leadership skills with the ability to execute consistently across a distributed business.
- Confident executive presence and the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders.
- Analytical depth combined with practical judgment that informs decisions, not just reporting.
- Operator mindset with an understanding of real-world scaling and execution.
Working Style
- Low-ego approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Clear and direct communication style.
- Comfort operating in complex and ambiguous environments.
- Ability to balance speed with operational rigor.
- Appreciation for both performance outcomes and people development.
Compensation
The pay range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000, plus a 25% bonus opportunity.
