About the Company

Zeitview is an intelligent aerial imaging business focused on critical, high-value infrastructure. The company helps organizations gain timely, practical insights that can recover revenue, lower risk, and improve build quality. Its customer base spans solar, wind, insurance, construction, real estate, and other vital infrastructure sectors. Operating across more than 70 countries, Zeitview supports the transition to renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure through advanced inspection solutions.

Role Overview

The Vice President, Accounting will head the accounting function and own controllership for a global, remote-first technology services company. Reporting to the CFO, this person will be accountable for financial reporting accuracy, accounting operations, internal controls, tax, treasury, order-to-cash, audit preparedness, and the design of scalable accounting systems and processes.

This is a senior finance leadership position for a hands-on executive who can think strategically while also building the structure, cadence, and team capability needed for growth, capital markets readiness, and broader business transformation. The role also includes modernizing the accounting function by evaluating and implementing practical AI-enabled tools and workflows to improve close efficiency, reporting, reconciliations, documentation, controls, and team productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the accounting organization and act as the primary owner of controllership, covering financial reporting, accounting operations, close activities, technical accounting, controls, tax, and treasury.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial statements, management reporting, board and investor reporting support, and regulatory compliance.
  • Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, with emphasis on faster closing, stronger balance sheet discipline, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and dependable reporting.
  • Manage core accounting areas such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, fixed assets, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Create and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and documentation that support audit readiness and scalable growth.
  • Lead tax compliance and planning across federal, state, local, and indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, nexus analysis, and coordination with outside advisors.
  • Oversee treasury and cash management, including forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and working-capital processes in partnership with FP&A and the CFO.
  • Strengthen order-to-cash processes from customer onboarding and billing through collections, revenue recognition, data integrity, and cash application.
  • Own accounting systems and process architecture, including NetSuite, Salesforce and HRIS/payroll integrations, automated data flows, and accounting data governance.
  • Identify and deploy AI-enabled tools and automation opportunities across close management, reconciliations, variance analysis, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Work with Finance, FP&A, IT, Legal, and Security to ensure AI tools are used responsibly with proper governance, review controls, auditability, and protection of confidential financial data.
  • Continuously improve the accounting function by using automation, AI, and process redesign to reduce manual effort, increase accuracy, shorten close timelines, and scale the finance team.
  • Support M&A integration and acquisition accounting, including purchase accounting, acquired-entity integration, policy alignment, and post-acquisition consolidation of finance processes.
  • Collaborate across FP&A, Revenue Operations, Legal, HR, Sales, Operations, and Technology to strengthen business processes, financial visibility, and accountability.
  • Build, coach, and lead a high-performing accounting team and external advisor network while fostering ownership, urgency, continuous improvement, and strong internal service.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including controllership and corporate accounting in a growth-stage, multi-entity, or global organization.
  • Background as a VP of Accounting, Corporate Controller, Assistant Controller, or another senior accounting leader with responsibility for close, reporting, controls, and accounting operations.
  • CPA is strongly preferred; experience in public accounting, a Big 4 or national firm background, or audit-readiness experience is a strong advantage.
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition, technical accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit procedures.
  • Hands-on expertise with NetSuite and a track record of improving accounting systems, integrations, data quality, and scalable finance processes.
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, automation, and newer finance technologies, with the ability to apply them thoughtfully to accounting operations, reporting, close management, and controls.
  • Experience supporting capital raises, lender or investor reporting, board reporting, financial diligence, or transaction readiness is preferred.
  • Experience with M&A integration, purchase accounting, multi-entity consolidation, and post-acquisition process harmonization is preferred.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and explain complex accounting matters clearly.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, strengthen weak processes, and establish operating discipline in a fast-moving environment.
  • Must be able to work remotely and coordinate effectively with a fully remote, globally distributed workforce.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Interest in technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and the drone/UAV space; drone experience or knowledge of UAV operations and regulations is a plus.

Location and Work Arrangement

This position is fully remote, but the candidate must live in California or Colorado.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is USD 230,000 to USD 260,000, depending on experience, location, and market benchmarks. The package also includes equity participation and standard company benefits.

  • Choice of multiple medical insurance plans, including one that covers 100% of the premium for the employee and dependents.
  • Fully paid dental and vision insurance.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Stock-based equity incentive program.
  • Work-from-home flexibility.
  • Autonomy and opportunities for advancement.
  • Inclusive culture where employee voices are valued.

Zeitview is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce. The company welcomes individuals of all ages, colors, sexes, disabilities, national origins, races, religions, and veteran statuses, and it aims to ensure everyone is treated with respect and dignity.
