Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced Accounts and Finance Head to oversee accounting and bookkeeping operations for US-based restaurant businesses. This role requires deep practical knowledge of US accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting, along with demonstrated leadership in managing a team. Experience in hospitality or restaurant accounting will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, guide, and monitor the accounting team, including training, task allocation, quality checks, and deadline tracking.
  • Support team development by coaching junior staff and ensuring smooth coordination with operations and leadership.
  • Oversee complete bookkeeping for US entities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor settlements, invoicing, and collection follow-up.
  • Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, merchant accounts, and POS settlements.
  • Process and review payroll on schedule, including timesheets, overtime, deductions, reimbursements, and benefit-related entries.
  • Maintain payroll records and coordinate with payroll processors or providers to ensure timely completion.
  • Support payroll tax reporting and related compliance requirements.
  • Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, and analyze variances in financial results.
  • Create management reports and MIS dashboards, while also assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Assist with sales tax, 1099 filings, year-end paperwork, and coordination with CPAs or external accountants for audits and tax matters.
  • Reconcile restaurant sales from POS and delivery platforms, and monitor food cost, labor cost, discounts, voids, refunds, and comps.
  • Track inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and reporting across multiple restaurant locations.
  • Strengthen accounting controls, improve SOPs, and refine workflows to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure documentation is completed on time.

Work Schedule and Environment

This is a full-time role based in Mohali, Punjab. The position follows a US shift / night shift schedule and is intended for candidates familiar with working across time zones.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in US accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Strong experience processing payroll for US employees.
  • At least 3 years of experience in team supervision or people management.
  • Good understanding of US GAAP basics.
  • Hands-on exposure to tools such as QuickBooks, Restaurant365, ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting.
  • Strong grasp of reconciliations and month-end closing processes.
  • Excellent analytical ability, leadership qualities, and communication skills.

Preferred Background

  • Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality accounting.
  • Experience handling books for multiple entities or locations.
  • Familiarity with POS platforms such as Toast, Clover, and Square.
  • Experience working with US clients or US-based companies.
