Vehicle Inspector - Paddock Wood

Role overview

RAC is hiring a Vehicle Inspector to join its inspections team in Paddock Wood. This opportunity is suitable for both newly qualified mechanics and experienced technicians who want to grow their automotive career with a recognised UK brand.

What you will do

• Carry out vehicle checks in line with the company’s inspection process and record the outcome in a PDA report template.
• Produce condition reports for used vehicles.
• Work closely with colleagues to keep daily site inspections running smoothly.
• Communicate with customer contacts to support a consistently high level of service.

What the role needs

To perform well in this position, you should bring an NVQ Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance or an equivalent certification, along with solid hands-on knowledge of vehicle servicing and repair. Familiarity with diagnostics, software updates, and electric or hybrid vehicles would be an advantage. Clear written communication and the confidence to deal with people at different levels are important, as is a full UK driving licence.

Pay and benefits

The base salary for this role is £27,850, with overall earnings potentially rising to £36,000 through bonuses and overtime.
