Role overview
This is a full-time, on-site MOT Test position based at SGG in Dunsfold Park, Dunsfold. The successful candidate will complete MOT inspections in accordance with DVSA rules, document outcomes accurately, and ensure each test is carried out with precision and efficiency.
What you will do
You will examine vehicles for roadworthiness, spot defects, and advise on required repairs. The role also involves working alongside the service team to uphold quality standards, keeping testing equipment in good working order, following health and safety procedures, and helping deliver a professional service that customers can trust.
Skills and qualifications
Applicants should bring strong MOT testing and test execution capability, along with the ability to manage inspections consistently and accurately. Experience in test management and test strategy is useful for organising and improving testing workflows. A solid understanding of quality assurance is important for meeting DVSA and internal compliance standards.
A valid MOT Tester certificate and current DVSA authorisation are required. A relevant automotive or vehicle technician qualification, such as NVQ or an equivalent, is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have good diagnostic and problem-solving ability, strong attention to detail, and a clear focus on safety.
You should be comfortable working as part of a workshop team, communicating effectively with colleagues and customers, and maintaining a dependable, professional approach while following all regulatory and health and safety requirements.
