Role overview
RAC is looking to bring on board a Vehicle Assessment Technician for its Inspections team. In this site-based position, you’ll work from client premises as part of a skilled inspection group, carrying out vehicle condition checks and testing to support the company’s high service standards and growth.
This opportunity is suitable both for newly qualified candidates starting out in the automotive sector and for experienced vehicle technicians seeking a new role with a major UK brand.
You’ll also receive access to market-leading training designed to help you build expertise in the role and progress within the business.
Key duties
- Carry out inspections in line with defined procedures and record results using a PDA reporting template.
- Produce condition reports for used vehicles.
- Help keep daily on-site inspections running smoothly by working closely with the wider team.
- Stay in regular contact with customer representatives and maintain professional interaction throughout the process.
What we’re looking for
- NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field, or equivalent hands-on experience in the motor trade.
- Solid practical knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair.
- Helpful knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric or hybrid vehicles.
- Clear written communication and the confidence to communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
- A valid full UK driving licence.

The role offers a base salary of £27,850, with potential earnings of up to £38,000 OTE.
