Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician
Step into a career with RAC's Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division, a rapidly expanding sector focused on scheduled mobile vehicle servicing and repairs directly at customer locations including driveways and workplace car parks. This role excludes emergency callouts and roadside recoveries, allowing you to work from a preset schedule with all required tools and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vehicle servicing and thorough diagnostics using advanced mobile tools.
- Perform detailed vehicle repairs typically done in a workshop environment.
- Provide members with knowledgeable advice and recommendations based on inspections.
- Execute vehicle safety inspections adhering to RAC standards.
- Manage jobs with clear digital scheduling, avoiding unexpected breakdown calls.
Working Conditions and Benefits
- Competitive base salary of 39,170, with potential on-target earnings reaching 32,000 including bonuses and overtime options.
- Guaranteed overtime scheme available, offering 30 per hour for extra rest days worked, potentially adding up to 3,000 to 5,000 annually.
- Regular work hours: 40 hours weekly, core hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM plus one Saturday in four.
- Fully equipped RAC van with tool set, fuel card, and uniform provided from day one.

Requirements
- Possess either an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
- Hold a full UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty points.
