Overview

Join the Waste Customer Networks team at Severn Trent based in Minworth, covering Central Birmingham. The team manages inspection, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of the waste network.

Key Duties

  • Address various waste network issues while providing outstanding support to customers when needed.
  • Operate specialized equipment including vacuum, jetting, and blockage clearing tools to tackle sewer blockages within the community.
  • Follow a 4-on 4-off shift pattern, totaling 36.75 hours weekly, which includes weekend work.
  • Conduct drainage CCTV surveys to maintain and diagnose system issues in order to identify the best corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with other units such as the control centre, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Work safely in confined spaces and at heights as required.
  • Drive vehicles compliant with transport laws and Severn Trent policies, maintaining cleanliness and roadworthiness both inside and out.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold a valid C1 driver’s license or higher.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality work, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset to effectively resolve root causes.
  • Be self-driven with the ability to work well individually and collaboratively as part of a team, showing a strong work ethic.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills aimed at building positive customer relationships.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and enthusiasm for troubleshooting challenges.
