VA Health System Specialist

About the Role

Altivera Medical is seeking a dynamic healthcare professional to lead the clinical adoption and utilization of advanced electrotherapy treatments within the Veterans Affairs healthcare system. This role partners closely with VA Medical Centers and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics to enhance access for veterans to non-opioid pain treatments. Initially focusing on Phoenix, the specialist will create a scalable framework for clinical adoption that will expand to additional VA sites as maturity is attained.

This is a strategic and high-profile position combining direct clinical education, developing relationships, organizational strategy, and measurable revenue outcomes. The ideal candidate excels in complex healthcare settings, enjoys provider engagement, and is driven to establish sustainable programs that improve patient results and support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Forge and expand strategic partnerships with VA clinical teams, service line leaders, prosthetics departments, and administrative decision makers.
• Serve as the main liaison for therapy adoption, reimbursement processes, and ensuring ongoing program sustainability at assigned VA locations.
• Deliver expert-level clinical and product instruction, including demonstrations and ongoing training on therapy solutions.
• Establish authority as a subject matter expert regarding therapy indications, best practices, coding, VA policies, and patient access pathways.
• Drive significant increases in therapy utilization and prosthetics orders within assigned VA facilities.
• Support growth goals by increasing patient enrollment, activating new prescribing clinicians, and standardizing referral processes.
• Contribute to facility and regional growth, including expanding into additional VA Medical Centers and VISN initiatives over time.
• Meet and surpass Altivera Medical's 2026 targets for VA payor market growth, directly impacting revenue and federal healthcare market presence.
• Assess and optimize clinical and administrative workflows to remove bottlenecks and enhance efficiency in compliance with VA policies and payer requirements.
• Ensure therapy programs conform to reimbursement guidelines, medical necessity documentation, and prosthetics department standards.
• Translate regulatory and payer updates into effective field strategies.
• Track usage trends, identify barriers, and forecast growth opportunities for leadership review.
• Support multi-site expansion across VA networks and collaborate with government, contracting, reimbursement, and marketing teams to accelerate growth.
• This role requires local and regional travel to VA facilities and affiliated clinics.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Background in healthcare, medical device sales, clinical sales, or federal healthcare systems.
• Strong communication, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-driven with strategic working ability in complex healthcare environments.
• Experience with rehabilitation, pain management, or prosthetics teams is advantageous.
• Experience working with or knowledge of the VA system preferred but not mandatory.
• Preferred educational background of a bachelor's degree.
• Preferably 3+ years of experience in healthcare, medical device, or clinical field roles.
